Made it through the Alabama LP's. Found a couple oak Ridge Boys LP's in the box. Yae thats right . Elvira. I have it on vinyl. But i found this fn gem on side one. Sonic, vocally I seriously doubt anyone has ever heard this. it's cool.
The group in question has some decent songs. This one is a very good song. Unfortunately, the group has a most unfortunate name and thus is ineligible for a "like". Collateral damage of the college football season. .
You're right -- I haven't heard that one before and I'm definitely not the only one. Not surprising, as my knowledge of The Oak Ridge Boys starts -- and ends -- with Elvira.
My picks for Tuesday, September 5, 2017: Duets, Part I Wild Night -- John Mellencamp & Me'Shell Ndegeocello. Cover of a Van Morrison song. Stumblin' In -- Chris Norman & Suzi Quatro. One of my favorite duets. Don't Fight It -- Kenny Loggins & Steve Perry. Another of my favorite duets. Needles and Pins -- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers & Stevie Nicks. Cover of a song by The Searchers. Most people have heard Stop Dragging My Heart Around from Petty & Nicks, but perhaps not this song. Under Pressure -- Queen & David Bowie
Just went through a Jhonny Cougar LP called American Fool. It was just after a Don Mclean LP. Impressed with Don. Hellovaartist.
Will be digging into my own collection over the winter. Looking forward to finding this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=30&v=Tf-zJw_Nktc
Saw Lee Michaels and a few other bands here back in the day. 1970?? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/04/michigan-theatre-detroit-parking-garage_n_5641301.html
American Fool was a great effort by John Cougar. I have his "greatest hits" CD (The Best That I Could Do 1978-1988). It has quite a few good songs and is definitely worth checking out if you like his music. As for Don McLean, the only song I know is American Pie, but it is a masterpiece and is instantly recognizable.
Just digging thru the box my friend. Just placed on the platter. Pristine 1972 LP with two mint posters.. Look up....... Columbia KC31102 Hard to believe the condition of this.........
My picks for Wednesday, September 6, 2017: Guitar Man -- Bread. Beds Are Burning -- Midnight Oil. Australian band's counterpart to Indian Reservation.(Paul Revere and The Raiders) lamenting the treatment of indigenous peoples. Renegade -- Styx. Love this song. Tommy Shaw had a similar effect upon Styx after he joined the band as Joe Walsh did once he joined the Eagles. More guitar is a great thing in a rock song! Carry on Wayward Son -- Kansas
Sounds like you have quite the variety in the box of albums you bought. I have Chicago's greatest hits CD taking up space on a shelf. There are several good songs on it, including Saturday in the Park, which was released on the album (Chicago V) you referenced above. That being said, I was never a big fan of this group. Also, Chicago sued or threatened other bands with legal action in order to keep them from using "Chicago" in the name of the group. So Climax Chicago Blues Band -- from Stafford, England -- had to drop "Chicago" from its name. Guess they were just pissed off that the Chicago Transit Authority wouldn't let the group use that name, so they had to shorten it to "Chicago".
Wow ...that was in that box what a find that band and most all their songs are cool one of my favorite bands and songs nice find
