Yes market is getting some great trackson! Some of the big traders left it but will be back. Where else can you make money . So let's enjoy the ride. Stay diversified but not too conservative. Energy stocks iffy - look at Chevron. Telecommunication stocks will rise. Real Estate funds may be a good time to enter since their prices are down but not their dividends. Dividend stocks funds are great buys . Corporate paper easy 5%..Lot out there.!!
Will give you a couple of 5 * Morningstar funds. Vanguard High yieldb dividend index and of course their growth Index funds. Also Janus- Henderson Growth & Income and their more conservative Balanced Fund.
Friday great day for the market and the country! See those drawn faces at CNN & MSNBC? Can we say UnAmerican?
dave the market has been on a roll and this sure as hell as been fun and profitable, but it is just like a long roll on the craps table, you cant put all the money you have on the rack on the table hoping for just five more rolls. The market is ahead of economic conditions and we will have a couple of interesting times before we hit a new high...... These ups and downs are like finding gold laying on the ground. TDB
I don’t believe what I just saw. The market goes way, way up in the same week in which Biden becomes the favorite to win the November election. 10 weeks ago, the Dow was at 19,000. I wouldn’t have thought that there was 1 chance in 1000 that we’d be where we are. I’m glad to see it although I went into a 100% cash position in late Fall and didn’t benefit much from it. What happens if favored Biden wins in November? Just how are the Democratic Socialists going to come after our IRA funds and equity holdings?
Why go into a cash position.Yoy can get an easy 5%just on corporate paper with little risk? REAL Estate Trust Funds are low and always are your best performers.Get on that train! Get on an income fund which is pretty safe.Lits of options!
I appreciate your advice but there’s a revolution going on and democratic socialists will be in control in 7 months, IMO. I think that another crash is coming before Inauguration Day, but I have been wrong many times before. In the meantime, I appreciate your advice and I wish you (and the country) good luck.
Misterinside Not likely to happen. More people going back to work.Airline bookings rising. Only thing that could bring market down is a real estate bust . Not going to happen. No place else to put your money! No CD' s no Treasuries that pay anything. Get on board now
misterinside That is what i have been trying to tell another member of this site. He has poisoned the water to the point he will never again get credit for anything. Live by the mouth, die by the mouth. Biden is a worse candidate than Hillary, but he is better liked, He will win 60% of the middle, a higher percentage of democrats than Trump will get of republicans, he will get far more republican votes than Trump will get of Democrat votes and there are more democrats than republicans and Trump will get fewer black votes than he did last time. Trumps record should have spoken for itself.....but Trump as he refers to himself in the third person wont let it. This is going to be a real hard time for small business, hurt by the virus, country shut down then a dem president, senate and house... TDB
TDB Trump has grown suppor5 in the Spanish population and even the blacks show better support. What about Bernie's supporters? Not many to Biden. Also moderates will back Trump not liberal Biden. Also can you picture Biden in a debate? Time to get real TDB. Watching too many snowflake channels?
It’s great that the market is over 27,000 again, but the world is ending. We probably all have enough money to last us until we’re 100 years old anyway, but this is going to be a more fucked up country and world to spend it in. Please give me the country that existed 1 year ago, pre-Covid and pre-Revolution and you can keep that appreciation that I can’t spend anyway. I guess the best that I can hope for now, is that Covid doesn’t get me in the Fall and the Democratic Socialists don’t take my nest egg. Back to the golf course before they take that away and build more Section 8 on it.
I applaud anyone who bought this dip and made some loot. I wish I had some, I think I would've joined you. I think I'd be looking to offload most (or maybe all) of it sometime before Q2 earnings calls, though. Seems probable to me that there'd be another dip.
Couple energy companies in trouble and airline projected losses reported.Nasdaq strong but what is it with small capp companies? Big boys moving on.As long as real estate holds things look good.No one concerned. about that beaten dog ( virus)
MISSTHIS1 I dont think inflation is going to be a problem. we are long past the time where debt matters....it can never be repaid, so a long as we can print we will.. Remember even at 3% just the interest on the debt would make functioning of the government as how it relates to the economy impossible The only way government survives is with negative rates.....imagine that, a country raised on the benefits of hard work wants to decrease the value of what you have earned. Saw tech going crazy and had been tracking Vanguards Information Technology ETF . So today moved into it_ up 5 points as of now!
For fund & stock tracking I use the App Seeking Alpha . Have one page w portfolio & other page a watch list. Very good app.
I prefer to watch a sector then see who is doing well in it. What's going to take off warehouse space ctrs near airports.Could not believe how built up the area around Bradley Airport has become. One word Amazon! Also look at medical office parks.Tracking one from Canada !
Tough day for casino stocks.Actually tough for the whole market! Covid scare ? Overbought? Who knows. However 2 of my Janus Funds were UP! One unchanged last one lost $.24 a share not too bad! Did not check Vanguard Index - too afraid lol
