leaving june 25th......stopping off in kansas city first....if anyone here plays anywhere on that list....want to meet up for a few sessions of dice.....pm me.....I can give you approx days we will be in area......

left out harrahs joliet illinois.......again...all pending on lockdown orders or rioting.....we are trying to avoid any major cities of population.

we need to be home by july 29th...so we have a month.....Id really love to continue on to reno....or drive north to deadwood south dakota.....which may be a possibility after blackhawk......it all depends on my back....and how much ground we make hopping in between towns and casinos.....hope to meet some of you out there.....we both have double vaccinations, and as always, my treat for dinner or lunch.

this is our last long driving road trip.....Id like to hit biloxi and vegas at least one more time....but by plane.....

Sounds like a fun road trip. Hopefully you and your wife don't try to do too much driving too quickly. Relax and enjoy traveling. Stop by and enjoy some of the local sights & attractions. Let me know when you have finalized your plans.

We stopped by Deadwood in Spring 2019. Craps in that town was not too exciting. Only a few casinos offered either live craps or the bubble variant. Lots of things to do if you love the outdoors, though.

If you're thinking about stopping by Horseshoe Southern Indiana, consider doing so on this trip. The new land-based casino was opened in late 2019. So it should be in very good condition. There is a pending sale of the property to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) which is expected to close later in 2021. According to reports, Caesars and EBCI have agreed to continue using the Caesars name and rewards program once the sale closes.

Consider flying out to Reno and then driving to Stateline (NV) for the Lake Tahoe experience. You'll get those offers if you game at Caesars Entertainment casinos.

Even though close to the Quad Cities, Jumners is a nice no smoking casino and away from the tribal get togethers. If things get dicy take Hwy 92 instead of I-80. They like to have pow wows on I-80 in Iowa city for reasons I've been unable to figure out.

Same for DuhMoines. All the tribal activity is confined to the capitol area downtown and avoid the Drake neighborhood.

When the date gets closer I'll see if we can make something work. We haven't been to Kansas City for a while.

IMO, Jumer's Casino & Hotel (Rock Island, IL) is the best of the 3 casinos in the Quad Cities area because of its no smoking policy. The other 2 casinos -- Isle Casino Hotel (Bettendorf, IA) and Rhythm City Casino Resort (Davenport, IA) are also very nice and relatively new (2016) facilities.

some adjustments needed to be made in order to meet up with friends in several cities.
we are booked into both harrahs and ameristar casinos in Kansas city monday the 28th of june for 3 days.
in a week or so a friend of mine will tell me which hotel he recommends..
we will not be stopping in ST Joes......but will go to council bluffs ameristar casino on either thursday or friday, july 1 or 2

we might get stuck in hamilton. missouri for a day.....why on earth I ask myself, but I will not rush or limit her on shopping for quilting.

Im guessing hamilton missouri is so small they dont have more than 1 traffic light. but hey, were out there to experience america.

according to what Ive been reading, this summer may set a new record for people being on road trips Just my luck. prices are expected to be ridiculous. gasoline will keep going up by then. hotel rooms are at least 25% more than I recall.

maybe its me. I looked over some restaurant menus, I dont recall prices being this high either.

IM looking foward to kansas city bbq restaurants....probably hit jack stacks freighthouse while we are there.

but I will post pics of bathrooms for duck. I expect many of them will make me unhappy.

what I want to know and cant seem to get info easily, when Im in blackhawk, can I rent thru casino or hotel a portable oxygen machine.....I probably wont need it, but I like being prepared....I doubt they will have oxygen bars open because of covid.
I know at a relatives wedding somewhere out there in the remote mountains, the wedding venue have an oxygen bar and the entire wedding it was packed. Pre covid.

You got that right. LIMan runs circles around WV Hicks. There’s a big world out there.
Don’t go to an oxygen bar, it will be a waste on you. India needs it!

I don't really feel like I need supplemental oxygen Ma'am. I was just wondering if it's what it sounds like, or maybe something else. As usual the information you provided, was completely useless. But at least you're consistent. :)

The oxygen bars at weddings at high altitudes are 10 times more popular than the alcohol bars
It's not good to drink alcohol if you aren't used to high altitudes

the wedding I mentioned there was a circular bar with seats and the person who administered the oxygen handed you a nose set and my friend said he believes they had flavored oxygen also
From the second the party started there was never an empty seat he said till the end of event

he carried canned oxygen around and now and then took a shot when needed
    He was at almost 11000!
    Feet

I don't think I'll be above 9000 feet at Blackhawk

I think the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 is the highest I've been. I think it's over 11,000 ft. I didnt have any trouble breathing, but the car wasn't running very good. It was on my first trip to Vegas.

You generally don't feel altitude sickness for around half day later
Vegas is a high desert no problems there

    This is Barney G

I use to accompany the LID when he would race at Pikes Peak (abouts 14k ft) and every time I would gets out of car at top I would almost pass out. It never seemed to effect the LID and even when he would climb Mt Everest (4 times) he never needed oxygen. He said it was because he was always high when nearing the summit.

And we will have to cut one casino out in Iowa
Weekend prices at 4 winds new Buffalo are insane
    479 for sat night
    Not in this lifetime
    We will
Get to 4 winds 2 days earlier and go to fire keepers for the weekend
Sat night was 200 bucks less
I can stay in non casino hotels
Not as much fun for us
Tough to set up a month or so of casino hopping with this summers prices

Per Google, the Las Vegas altitude is 2,001 feet. Heat exhaustion would be a concern long before altitude sickness.

Consider staying in Denver for a night or 2 before heading on to Black Hawk. That would give you a bit of time to get better acclimated to the higher altitude. Also, do the drive to Black Hawk during the day so you can enjoy the scenery (and not mess up driving on winding roads with some sharp turns / steep drop-offs, depending upon the route driven). Use Google Maps (satellite view) to check out the primary routes from Denver to Black Hawk. At least snow/ice shouldn't be an issue during late June/early July, lol. Kansas City (KS) altitude is 869 feet. The Mile High City altitude is 5,280 feet. Blackhawk (CO) altitude is 8,537 feet. Besides, after driving west through Kansas on I-70 (towards Denver), you'll be ready to fall asleep if you haven't already dozed off during that drive.
