I will happen to be in the area of Seneca Allegany in Salamanca, New York the afternoon of 09/07 and 09/23/15. I happen to be staying overnight those nights, so will be there the mornings of 09/08 & 09/24. If anyone else is in the area, it would be fun to roll some dice.
no, Id love to be there, but I always wanted to know all the years I drove up there, a few of the gas stations, had huge banners hanging in front stating we only sell gas to American cars. I never knew if they meant only American brand cars, like gm, ford, or only license plates from the states, not Canadian.
Never noticed that Liman - I see their cheap cigarette stores. I'll have to take notice when I'm up there if they still say that. The Indians seem to do pretty good with their casino, gas stations, and cigarette stores.
I haven't been up that way since Id guess 2009? but we clearly remember the sheets or tarps spray painted stating only American cars. This was right along the main street there in town, not sure if that is tribal land or not. I drove an H2 back then, never had a problem. I also remember driving out there from the east in mid winter, its like your driving in frozen tundra from Elmira or corning west, and all of the sudden you saw a sea of lights on 17, like an oasis, at least for gamblers like us. I asked the wife and she said she remembers Salamanca well, she never won anything on the slots there. I once got a free teeshirt that said something like Don't break Indian Treaties, and had a law number or something on it. The biggest disappointment was their food services, I hope they improved it a bit. we always made a decision before we left, drive up with 17 and go to Salamanca, or drive out through buffalo with 90 and stop off on way back at turning stone outside of Syracuse. turning stone refused to give us a room at a reasonable rate once during one of their golf tournys, so we never went back. my wife just came in, she remembers the 2 or so gas stations with the banners stating only sell American cars
