Koko the icing machine helps with the extensive swelling
Might ease the pain not sure I run it 24 hours a day since surgery

As far as a card for implant to travel
He said he will give me a letter to carry
Seems the implant manufacturers no longer give out cards
I'm guessing it won't matter much in today's airports since they will privately wand me
Anyone can claim knee replacement they will probably put me in X-ray machine
    Not worried
I can do almost everything for myself except get my sock and shoe on that foot but expect within a couple of days I'll be ok
My wife won't let walk upstairs or outside without spotting me since the therapist told her he'd prefer to have someone close by me when I'm out or on stairs
    I don't fight her

Looking good, you now have some space between the 3 bones. They left bone fragment there at the anterior of the tibia.

Massage that knee cap to keep it free moving.

Liman....I'm not a doctor, but when I had significant pain in my back and i had yard work to do, I took 800 mg of ibrorophen and I had zero pain.......I pretty much guarantee 800 mg will take away the pain..........777

Surgeon mentioned might have the excessive swelling on thigh due to a tourniquet applied
I guess it was used to prevent me from bleeding to death

Yes but did you notice I had an electronic device installed inside the titanium joint to block the magnets used on bubbles and some rigged tables

so today makes 3 weeks since surgery...Im a bit disappointed after hearing story after story of how people who have same surgery are out walking their dogs walking with cane after 2 weeks. me, I don't feel anywhere comfortable to walk outside with cane, just don't feel the knee would support me enough. I walk around house a few times a day with cane, but I have things to grab if I feel unsteady.
physical therapy is brutal, but necessary, and I do my home exercises religiously, maybe too much so...but according to everything Ive been told by professionals, stretching and bending that joint, I cant overdo it.
I think its going to be a lot of bubbles in my future so I can sit. Ill never play at a live table and sit.

    Liman,

As you know, recovery time is different for each person who has undergone knee replacement surgery. Adopt a longer-term perspective of things. It's winter, not like you're going to make regular trips to upstate NY casinos. When you're ready, you're ready.

Or you could be like me on my last visit to the casino, stop by the lounge to have dinner and then get to the craps table, only to: 1) watch the shooter hit his 6th different point for the Fire Bet (having already made the All All and 9 other points); 2) be told the previous 2 shooters both made 4 point Fires (and at least 1 end of the ATS); 3) take a break late in the night and arrive back just in time to watch the shooter hit the All All; and, 4) have to switch craps tables in the middle of a pretty good roll (3 points already for FB and needing only 2, 5 & 11 for ATS) because some f*cking idiot (perhaps a Darwin award winner in the near future) had a cut on his finger and getting blood on (a lot of) the chips. The Pit Boss closed down the table, colored everyone up, and then the crew started to manually clean all of the chips.

You'll be hopping around eventually. Stick with those press downs and heel slides. Get on a stationary bike and set the seat as high as you need to just to be able to pedal. Hang in there Liman, much better times are coming.

    Liman,

My Dr says, "Be patient" "Do the joint movement exercises but go easy when putting weight on the new joint.""You don't want to over load to the point that you limp on it while walking with your walker, crutch, cane". Your Dr probably told you that. Just thought I'd share what mine said.

Any more I chalk that up to the universe telling me to do something else besides gamble. I still remember the day my wife wanted to make a quick stop at the mall first and I could only stand by and watch the tail end of a 74 roll hand on the old bubble machine that I missed by "that much". Also the time I took a dinner break and walked off at the start of an hour long roll.

I think we've probably all been there at one point. Blood on the table is one I don't recall. Usually it's beer and they just mop that up and continue play.

Yeah, sometimes I think the universe is out to get me (at the craps table), lol. But then I think about how fortunate I am in many other aspects of life, so perhaps that's just the way things are evened out a bit.

I believe me and my wife planned it out wrong. instead of her retiring then having my surgery, I should have done it before she retired.
I think there is something like family leave out there, not that it would have matter much, she never would have been given grief for taking off from work for a few weeks, besides, she works one minute from our home. Now she is retired and we are stuck doing nothing for months upon months.
another mistake I made, timing IS everything.

I ran into my high school history teacher at the doctors office. I thought he was old when I was in high school; he's much older now. He told me; "Getting Old Sucks!" "They say age is just a number, but it's more than that." "Getting Old Sucks".
