Here's the thing about a YouTube video -- if you think you wasted your time watching one, move on; don't like, subscribe or donate via Patreon. It's really that simple.
RR Those Patreon channels can be very lucrative.Bonethrower capitalized big time! Funny MP & Heavy never charged a cent.
...just riffing on Dave G Ct's post. Well AHigh had a slow motion didgital camera that revealed uncontrollable bounce from the wall. More revealing to me was the SR's dice sliding ramp... ...a real eye-opener for anyone that had dreams of any dice control. Those 2 revalations aside craps is still the only game I would go to a casino for. I just like the idea of parleying a few units into many units.
I’m utterly amazed with some of these YouTube high limit slot players…many extremely wealthy to begin with and viewers are tossing them money to play slots thru “chats”…messages sent to them during a gambling session with a “donation”. Anywhere from $5…I’ve seen donations of $100+. the Big Jackpot likely has a net worth in excess of $25 million…he has all these viewers sending him money to play slots. Their “consolation” is they get to watch and see their message of support appear during the stream. Otherwise they could just watch for free.
Gee how could I have forgotten Ahigh! Great guy but atrocious tosser. When SR was on as the Masked Avenger priceless!
Is Hightower still in Vegas? Last I saw or heard he was living near the Strat. I believe he gave up playing craps regularly. Maybe altogether? He designed and built the best dice balancing caliper I’ve ever seen.
Craps is a niche game in the casino. Money has been made by selling books and offering dice shooting/gaming courses. AFAIK, Heavy (still) charges for the dice program he has put together; not sure about the forums on his website. MP? Good one. He's probably hanging out with Waldo. In order for an internet influencer to materially benefit from Patreon (and merchandising. sponsorships), he/she/the group has to put out videos on a regular basis that enough people are willing to watch, knowing only a small percentage of viewers will likely contribute financially. That's in addition to having presenters with charisma & a likeability quotient and being able to put together a quality production time & again. And, let's be honest, for many channels -- especially travel/van life -- eye candy is essentially a requirement. Of course, if you're exceptional at what you do and can teach others how they can consistently achieve similar results, Patreon (and merchandising, sponsorships) could be very rewarding -- if you have the time, desire and appropriate equipment. @Liman has shared pictures of several things he has made in his shop. He's obviously very talented at woodworking. However, he probably doesn't have the desire (or time) to put together videos to document how he goes about building the various projects he undertakes. Luke Towan is really good when it comes to scale modeling. And he's put together some of the best videos I have seen on the subject. Luke Towan - YouTube
Yes can be time consuming. In the field of finance they come out of the woodwork selling this newsletter or that one.
P.T. Barnum said it best: "There's a sucker born every minute". That being said, people have a right to spend their money (excluding public assistance, contractual / legal obligations) as they see fit. Still, I wonder how many of these contributors receive their "donation" back from account owner, especially on the more dubious channels. In other words, perhaps some friends make a contribution with the knowledge the account owner will return the it (in whole or in part) to them so the net effect is zero or less than the publicized amount. The more apparent contributors, the more hype, the more likely some will think perhaps there is something beneficial by becoming a contributing member and being able to access restricted content. Clearly there are legitimate reasons to contribute via Patreon. Making a donation in order to watch someone play slots? Hmmm...not something I would spend my money on. YMMV.
Yeah, they're a dime a dozen. Most of them can't even come close to beating the S&P 500 index fund in the long run after their fees are taken into account.
Saw a great vid of the Hawaiian Crapshooters taking a lesson from Howard Rock n Roller.Wow Howard showed couple of his tosses .Shall we say legitimate- especially the Ice Tong toss. Nice job Howard!
Couldn't care less what the so-called "table" thinks of my play Dave. As you might recall, my chosen method of play involves ONE P or C w/ odds, with the idea of (1) losing as little as possible, and (2) winning as much as possible. Sleep away, but wake up if/when the wager gets large.
This is for LID. Go to.Utube and search Underhand Dice Toss. A video taken 8 months ago should appear at the beginning. Green table and one of the shortest vids 11 seconds! Username of Stingray. Now who is he? Not me lol
