The wife and I went on a short road trip and stopped at Diamond Jo twice over the weekend. They have 2 craps tables and a Roll to Win with no dealer. Both regular tables were open at 6PM on Saturday and one table at 4PM on Sunday. Only table I played was the roll to win. $5-$9999 aggregate bet limits. $5-$500 on the line, 5X odds. Have to have $5 on the line to shoot. When the timer runs out the machine chokes it's chicken for a couple seconds and then a set of spinning dice show up on the screen if you're the shooter. You touch or slide your finger across the screen to shoot. Other than the unusual 2+ second lag transitioning to the make bet's time and shoot the dice time I liked it. Betting timer was set at 15 seconds so the pace was decent. Won $90 Saturday and $480 Sunday. 3 back to back to back rolls in the teens Sunday but, the first one was full of horn numbers so, it was a breakeven roll for me. Left after the 3rd decent roll in a row since we were both wanting to get home.
1) Pace of play, if it isn't a table for one it's usually too slow for my preference. 2) On the machines I can use press or regression schedules that I can't use on a table. If I want to make a $13 flat bet with $27 odds it isn't an issue and the most I'll get short paid is 1 cent. 3) I can buy the 5 or 9. 4) I can buy the 4 and 10 for as low as a dollar if I wish. 5) I'm not much of a people person. I don't go to a casino for the people. 6) If I decide to take everything down, or turn it off, it's a simple one button push. 7) The variability curve seems to be flatter. Can't prove it since I quit tracking rolls.
A very sharp cookie this guy is, but there is something about people, and for that reason, I prefer the table.
Yes, the one off of 35. Hopefully they'll keep it for a while. They have a history of putting in machines and taking them back out shortly thereafter. Due to their location I think they have trouble getting skilled help and many slot techs don't like the ETG's.
Last trip there in June the tables were packed so tight there was no room to even watch. Both tables. Lots of young gamblers spending their stimulus money. Machines were raking it in. I had to get my wife out of there.
It took me longer than it should have but I came to the same conclusion as Wong did. We go gambling quite a bit but the passion isn't there for me any more. I'm busier than a cat covering shit in a sandstorm due to the computer chip shortage plus, everyone in the world wanting to automate everything they can so they don't have to deal with employee issues.. The wife loves to gamble so I go a couple times a week for the happy wife, happy life thing. She also hates to lose money so we don't have any issues with money management. If it wasn't for the wife, I probably wouldn't gamble much these days.
Yes Duck. There is brand new and there is 2 years old. Difference?? 2 years.. Ya got that??? fukinidiot
It might have been a used machine. What I really would like to know, is, what is the financial deal between Aruze and casino that installs one of these contraptions.
Azure gets the dealer tips equivalent to the 5 people it takes to staff a full table with a box critter.
Convenient little world you have made for yourself. take stuff literal when it pleases you and ignore what is inconvient
I've played the game at Hard Rock Tampa a few times now. I found that lag time plenty annoying as well. After reading this post I got curious, so today I put a stopwatch on it. It's seven long seconds from the time of "no more bets" to when the dice appear. Seems too long to me.
Fair baron, but only fair. Per our listed multiple choice answers re your so-called secret method. I would give it a C or D (on MY scale, not yours)...................................edit................................... note to supper-innumerates:: for referenced multiple choice answers, see below. _________________________________________________________________________ Just had a thought while in the shower Baron. This was after taking a dump, so I am not going to associate you with any bodily functions, as the LID and I do w/ the UCDT: Why don't you PM me your secret method, then after looking at it, I will come back into this thread, stating ONLY either A, B, C, D, E or F below. There will be no discussion of your secret method. My only comment after seeing it will be either: (A) This is fricking incredible. the LID has got to see it. (B) This is a smart way to play, better than my game where railbirds give me advice as if I don't know how to play (C) Ho hum, I've seen this before (D) This is not as good as you think it is (E) Pathetic (F) Any of the above, but not more than 2 at the same time
(A) not incredible, but pretty good. (B) railbirds be damned, I know what exactly I’m doing, Duh, I don’t know. (C) nobody’s ever seen it before. (D) it’s better than you think. Pretty good, in fact. (E) I was thinking the same thing. (F) Sorry, I can offer no relief for your pain.
