Where does a reporter find someone willing to talk about his gambling prowess in fantasy sports? Do they magically appear in front of the writer?---"here's my story". If I'm a writer and I want to write about DI...Do I interview Heavy and just rely on everything he says to be legit and true about guys cleaning up at the tables? Or maybe Howard? It's funny. Rick posts this stuff---I guess declares it is true but out of the other end of his mouth he questions all these others about their truthfulness. Why can't this story be bogus along with the crap MP writes about? Or Heavy? Or Howard? Gambling stories like this are a dime a dozen. It might be true, might not. I don't waffle. I generally don't believe any of them. At least I'm consistent. Beyond that, this article is about another "engineer"...we've got one of those right here (or claims to be) and he doesn't know his @ss from his elbow.
TDVegas, There are many guys who more or less survive off of gambling, I know quite a few of them. There is probably 'The rest of the story' that the writer is not telling, in that most of these guys have other income streams such as: royalties, social security, trust funds, inheritance, investments, and properties. And, some guys also live with women who more or less fund them and take care of them. Given the state of gambling and the casinos today, I do not believe anyone can live 100% off of gambling as their sole income stream. Bob Dancer has even admitted that doing what he did, becoming a pro video poker player, is much harder today that it was when he was in his prime. Bob wrote two articles I think clearly outline the challenges and dilemmas gamblers face: Article 1 and Article 2
I agree that it's much harder today, but I do know some people who make 100% of their income off gambling. I don't think it's comfortable, and it takes a lot of discipline, but I see how it's possible.
