That best describes an advantage toss in the DI world. We all know the importance of your grip , release, speed, trajectory, landing and low rebounds. Everything must work together. A defiency in one area will affect the toss integrity. It's when everything flows effortlessly then you can take it to the next level - live play.
Of course who is willing to wait . You throw on your practice rig or even a makeshift cardboard box and you declare yourself ready or ready enough to give it a try. I did and the roller coaster begins .
Now my toss is established. Looks professional but will it succeed? Mechanically it is sound but how fluid it can become will be the final factor. Frustrating at times but also rewarding. Never had a lesson but a lot of online help. When you shoot you are on stage. Better believe it is your show! Okay TD take a seat and observe lot to see

The feeling is that most DI's think they are controlling outcome. The reality is likely that they are not. It's a nice thought. I get it. It makes people feel good and maybe strokes their ego in trying to beat an unbeatable game. Admitting the game is stronger than the individual can be tough for some to accept.

Toss, mechanics, release, placement, speed, trajectory...you're forgetting those pesky little pyramids specifically designed to F up everything you do prior to the dice hitting them and inducing randomness.

    Those darn pyramids.

I get it. Everyone wants to have an edge, strive for an edge, practice for an edge. Whats likely happening is your mind is getting clouded by everything you do prior to those dice hitting the table to the point where you think "my consistent toss is overruling everything else". It's not.

If it was truly a skill that could be called on---you would all be rich. How come none of you are?

We've gone over this 1,000 times. You're not going to convince me and it doesn't sound like I'm going to convince you. I do, however, note the flaw in a DI's claims as it relates to betting progressions and limits. That seems factual rather than anecdotal---as your claims are.

Tabletop is right. You ask some hard questions! They are welcomed. So this is what I am going to do. I will post every casino visit and give a report good or bad. You can draw your own conclusions.I have been net positive for 7 years. I am not worried in the slightest.

There is a big learning curve moving from a random roller to DI rookie testing your skills in a live casino. Putting the mechanics aside I found you have to deal with"mind games" you experience at the tables, you must figure out what discipline means to you and enforce it, and your betting strategy must be adjusted & develop over time to support your throwing patterns. Discipline is critical to consistently win. Betting strategy will make your play more profitable. The mind games play a bigger part in the early stages when you feel you are controlling the dice but are not and the realization of the work you would have to put in to achieve any level of influence, justification of the efforts, and commitment to improvement.

I see. With this "advantage" play...why are all of you still at the $5 table?

I think the reality is that you guys are all random rollers and you are just mistaking a decent night at the tables as being a night that you think you influenced result. Even grandma throwing the dice like a shot put will win on occasion. This is what is happening. It's not influence or control. It's actually called short term variance.

What, other than your word, do you have to prove you have been beating the casinos for 7 straight years? I don't say you are not telling the truth, I am just saying I am suspect. If you believe it is due to "skill", then you should be on your way to the casino right now, not posting on here.

You are too diplomatic 'onautopilot' .

The unvarnished truth sounds so much harsher.....but than, it's not what you say, but how you say it.

Mostly play on $10 & $15 tables. As to my veracity I would not waste my time or yours making things up. Do you honestly think myself. Big Ben. & Tabletop need to be on this board? We enjoy the discission and if we can help someone so much the better. Yes it is hard to comprehend Onautopilot when you have not won consistently.

If you are net positive and a DI, not sure what you are STILL doing playing $10-$15. Just doesn't make any sense. There's nothing you can really do to verify the skill or not. It would have to be done over thousands of rolls unless of course you tell me "10 is coming" and you roll 10 on demand. The only real way to verify if DI is a viable skill, IMO...is your betting history as it relates to your skill and bankroll increase over 7 years. Since none of you, with this skill over years and years has EVER mentioned the idea of progressive betting limits (some type of a Kelly Criterion) to coincide with your skill claims....the entire premise of DI is called into question.

Think of Warren Buffet. His first stock purchase was 3 shares---3---3 shares. He developed a skill over time that allowed him to see value. Then he went to 300 shares. Then to 3,000. Today, decades later he doesn't deal in anything less than 300,000,000 shares. Think about that and get back to me. You and Big Ben are still at the $5 table.

You guys are random rollers. It's not a scarlet letter. Don't worry. No one is going to think any less of you.

Nope TD, you're wrong AGAIN.. I'm NOT at a $5 table as you are TD.

Nor do I believe that my 6 Point Fire-Bet Win on Sunday (in just about 1/2 an hour's time) was a fluke.

Believe what you want, that's OK, we're all entitled to. THEN AGAIN, with our horrible government the way it is these days, THAT comes into question even MORE SO! LOL...

Now you are speaking for Harley and Rick? We've already been thru that. A simple question to you. Can you roll numbers on demand? or how would you demonstrate that you are a DI?

You are right, just because my reality differs from yours, doesn't give me the right to judge yours. If you say you are a consistent winner at bank craps, and have mastered the skill of controlling the dice, lacking replicable evidence, that proclamation stands on its own, with you being the sole judge of the validity there of. You are the only one that really knows, if what you say is true and factual. Here on this forum, I suppose that should be enough, in other venues however, extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence to be accepted by others in that specific field of interest.

Have you noticed the distractors always bring up on a good hand " it is just varience" Gets old after a while. Or they think we make it up.The people I know on post on these DI boards have a lot of pride and why make something up.

You got lucky. People do hit the progressive once in a blue moon. A needle is sometimes found in a haystack. Without verifiable truth other than from some other DI flunkie---It all comes into question anyway. I can see why you're worried about government. You live in NY. Why you aren't plying this enormous skill in Las Vegas right now is beyond me. Must not like money. Enjoy your $5 play.
