Since becoming senile reading DI and Dice Control fiction... my brain has not evolved to the higher level of Homo sapien logic, when standing with a hand full of chips at a Craps Table and expecting to... well, win.

Why does a Craps Table have a full length mirror below the Stickman and end to end?

    - Homo erectus is the Don't Player.

    - Neanderthal is the Random System Player.

    - Homo sapien is the... gullible of the species, believing in Black Magic, Mind Reading and of course actual Dice Influencing.

Why do clothing stores have full length mirrors, may be a start. A diversion from reality, but still has a purpose. Yet no once can say what the purpose of a full length Craps Mirror brings to the table.

Bases loaded is the first on this Forum to actually know.

Obvious to me a Craps Scholar and among the few that understand Craps from the Dice to the Table!

Why do Casinos have to use security on their Dice?

Is it because it lets the Craps Staff know which dice are Biased?
Is it to protect the Player from Poorly Made Chinese Casino Dice?
Is it to alert the Casino Security that Craps Players are winning more than losing?
Is it to protect the Casino from cheats, crooks and outside Biased Dice from entering the game?

On the Come out roll the stickman will call the point and then gather the dice.

He/she will move them in front of the box with the result showing. The dice are then 'flipped' to reveal the down faces. Then the dice are 'splayed' so 4 of the dice sides are visible to the box person.

The other 4 sides are visible in the mirror.

The dice have now been checked for legitimacy.

Ding, ding, ding. Past posting a larger chip at the bottom of a stack of smaller chip odds, collusion etc. I'm reasonably sure a good dealer would use the mirror to help verify they're paying odds quickly and correctly and to pick the correct number of chips out of their working stack, etc. The box will use the mirror to verify that the dealers friend isn't getting too good of a deal on their odds payout. etc. etc.

Mssthis1 has also a great reason for the mirror.

Sometimes a dealer has a 'dirty stack' of chips after a Seven Out.
Players can have a $25 chip on top of a $5 chip on the Pass or Don't Pass

There are a lot of cameras watching play action in real time. On a busy table, expect one or more security to be keeping track of the action... if not from the Pit itself.

Even the Casino is interested in knowing HOW the table is being beaten.

So you are saying, that a die could look exactly like a regular casino die, but be biased? If that's the case, how do we know it's not to keep any "unbiased" dice from getting in the game, or wrong biased dice?
I'd still like to know why dealers "report" a don't bet, to the box man? Not the stick, the dealer, muttering under his breath, "on the dont", to the box man. What then is the box man going to do?

The big money plays I have watched were Don't Pass with maximum odds.

Dice are not Biased towards any outcome. If you are winning, the dice are not biased. If you are losing, the dice are biased... kind of logic.

I wager, if you took Drilled out Atlantic City dice, did some shooting at home on a table or dice cup...it would be difficult to find a bias, even though there is a hole the size of a 22 bullet.

No, Man, I still think there is a bias even when I'm winning.

Or pull a Charles Oakley....makes $50 million in NBA career and resorts to stealing a $100 chip during blackjack. Dumb is dumb.

His lawyer said "this is an insignificant incident that will be resolved quickly".

    LOL...

It was resolved alright...pleads no contest which is essentially saying "yes I did cheat".

    He was spared jail time.

Those are one way mirrors, and there is somebody on the other side watching you. A dealer could not read dice in the mirror, because mirrors reverse everything. The calls would be like, OWT craps, RUOF easy, hard RUOFS down. Yo, N' EVELE. ENIN center DLEIF. It wouldn't work. The mirror is there, so that the box man, can send secret, eye signals, to the dealers, without actually looking at them.
Clothing store mirrors are bent to make you look skinnier than you really are. I saw a really skinny guy standing in front of one once, and his reflection, looked like a vertical line. :)

Is it only the table games that need all this security? I don't see how anyone could cheat a slot, vp, etc. game.

I've seen plenty of ways for people to scam slots. Sometimes it was the company that owned the slots that was scamming. It's probably tougher than ever though.

Useful? Oh, you mean like this post of yours, to me. Do you really think I give shit what you think Ma'am. I'm glad you got a good laugh out of it. If you didn't, then one might ask how you knew it was an attempt at humor. Go ahead and vent your frustrations on me Ma'am, it's better than holding it in. I'll bet your "wife" will make you wear one of those mid evil chastity belts, while "he's" in New Orleans, just to protect the public.

von duck... I liked your Post #13. It was a sign that not all Craps Players are brain dead, like myself.

    Great post.
