Here is where you are using your own words, not mine.

I expect to win when I play craps.....but I acknowledge the reality, I am playing a negative expectation game. That doesn't mean I will not win, in fact I win quite often....I wouldn't play the game if I didn't.

Do I think I could make a living playing craps, a resounding NO.

Do I think I get enough pleasure, and enjoyment to warrant the risk, a resounding YES.

Wonderful...show me how you can do this. You don't need to share your secrets with me. That's not my intention. I'll give you all the breathing room you want or need. I'm off in the distance simply recording rolls. I'm not looking for any proprietary info or trade secrets...just simply to observe.

Talk is cheap. I'm in awe of your claims.

But, I won't hold my breath....

I've heard people say it....attitude means everything. I'd like to see how that actually translates at a craps table.

If you're telling me two people, betting about the same way...one with a "can do" attitude and the other as "mopey Joe"....the "can do" guy will do better.

I'd also like to watch that.

confidence is a good thing and it describes very few people , confidence is a great commodity to posses
many people seeing it in another person have a tendency to resent it , they many times view it as a character flaw
true confidence in most cases is the result of and a symptom of preparedness and success
success and confidence comes at a price for many the investment is too high
to gain either requires an investment of time , effort and energy

people have a tendency to be very stingy with their time and they simply are not going to spend any time
    or energy to learn anything

nothing in life is free that is why it is rare , why so few people possess it
this magic you referred to falls into the same lexicon as luck it is NON EXISTENT
    You are asking for numbers
let me give you some facts
    the day before the ACA
one of their participants came to my house I spent about 5 hours with him
during our time together 5 of the group happened by
the ACA guy asked to see me throw some dice
I told him "first let's have you see some of the folks I am training
A guy with probably 12 training sessions under his belt threw 36 rolls before throwing a 7
My wife Kris was charting the numbers
Then a lady with 4 lessons threw 43 rolls before the seven came up again charting the numbers
I showed the ACA gentleman a pay out instruction on the betting strategy that we would have
    used on that roll
on the number 9 alone on that sequence anyone of our group would have made slightly more than $3000
    that is not LUCK
he was somewhat amazed then I set the 7s thre 4 of them then a 10 then another 7
I have stated in posts previously with the set I use the most I throw a lot of 6s and 8s some of them the hard way
the amount of time I spend in Vegas is almost irrelevant to my success I have a table I purchased from a casino
on the strip i Vegas I practice everyday and have for years I chart numbers
I sold the table I had in the garage , no place to put it , when I buy another house I will buy another one
    I like to have two
and as far as the secret how I do it
    there is no secret
    The thing that amazes TDV
you and others see it happen everyday and you have to slap a label on it LUCK
You just can't bring yourself to accept that it could be skill
You may get your chance to see it all
I have people asking me to come to Vegas and teach
I have people coming here on their way to Vegas for lessons
from Hawaii , Alaska , Denver , Dallas , California , New York , Houston
I have one guy who lives in Sun City here in Phoenix comes once a month he says it's a long drive 50 miles or so
he met the guy from Hawaii once and felt a little guilty about complaing about driving th 50 or so miles

I have no secrets I have people at my house almost everyday
one guy one day asked me after about 4 sessions , "How much do you hold back?? how much of what you know do you refuse to teach " ?
I asked him are you winning he said yes I asked how much more do you need to learn

Actually, confidence is a by- product of self worth, and understanding ones true values
Actually, self confidence is just a reflection of ones self worth and self esteem, it is a complete package. Those that are the most comfortable with these character traits, are usually the quietest ones. They are content with who and what they are, with no need for "validation" from others......a very nice place to be, one that I constantly strive to attain. A work in progress, hopefully someday!

    Just something to ponder James.

    Sounds all well and fine.....but....
Again....35th time. I would like to watch this confidence of play in action. You don't need to verbally convince me. Convince me with the dice in your hand.

I've grown tired of hearing about your exploits on a practice table...

Eventually the engineer has to engineer...
    The architect has to design..
    The builder has to build...

You sound good, but it's all being done in the confines of your home and not in a real world environment.

Circumstance. What does that mean. It's OK if you just say it that I got lucky.

    4 lessons.

wowser, ok, Im convinced. Im selling my home, moving to vegas this weekend, and Im willing to pay the ACA whatever they want so even if I have to take 15 lessons, I want to be throwing 40 roll hands.
I figure within a year, I will be able to buy Donald Trump 3 times over.
wow, why did I wait so long.

James, you really need to seek help.

you're talking about self esteem , self worth and self confidences complete package Miss America has all that , fashion models have that drilled into their heads constantly
they are taught everyday to project , to reflect those traits
you're talking confusing those things with what I'm talking about confidence that comes from trying different things , spending time , effort and energy and practicing to get good
practicing more and learning more and getting even better I'm talking about confidence hard earned
to be confident at something requires effort . Successes that we experience builds confidence every success comes from being prepared and execution
they have verbal validation drills for self confidence , self worth and self esteem it's call self motivation
Keep striving I am sure one day you too will reflect self confidence , self esteem and self worth
As for me I will just keep studying practicing and hopefully getting better

I'm doing fine My game is good and it's getting even better
you really need to evaluate your efforts toward playing to win instead of playing not to lose so much
It's out there it's available and some of you folks just won't see it or accept the facts

the question you asked me was
    What then ??
To answer your question I would need more information
If you were throwing the dice , were you setting ?
was someone else throwing the dice ?
    were the setting?
from various information we can determine if they were to any degree influencing the outcome of the dice
or if the outcomes were random
I have just always found it ludicrous that anybody would go into a game with the thought in their mind
or even with their mind made up they are going to lose
that to me is counterproductive and oh so counter intuitive
I go into everything I do with the thought of success

Cliches, James..cliches. You love to use them. These terms you use (playing not to lose, it's out there, it's available, attitude, confidence) are all non-descript terms that ignore details of how you actually accomplish what you say you accomplish.

There's that old saying, money talks, bullshit walks...

You certainly bullshit (talk) a lot about your skills....

Showing them to some doubters, skeptics is another story.

OK James I go in not giving a damn about winning. I am the only one at the table. I just grab 2 dice and throw them willy nilly down the table. I hit point after point. Is that skill, is that good preparation.
