What to expect playing Craps on a Cruise Ship?

This weekend my wife & I are going on our first ever cruise on a Cruise Ship. I've seen pictures and have been told by others that while there will be a Craps table on it, chances are there is only ONE table.

That works for me, but am wondering what to expect for the cost of play. I prefer to play on $5.00 tables - I'm a very conservative player and like to ease in to the game after getting my initial buy in back and starting to work on the casino's money.

So, for those of you who have been on a cruise ship - was the Craps table a $5.00 table or a $10.00 - or even more? What should I expect for players?

From what I've read, it seems there are very few die hard players. You might get a crowded table after the shows are out with newbie's just trying the game, but for the most part you won't see many "regulars" the whole week.

We are headed to Bermuda so will be in the port for 3 days - and I know once in port (at least in the U.S.), the casino isn't open until the ship is out to sea. So will it be the same in Bermuda - that the casino will only be open while cruising to and from the U.S.?

Any other tips I should know for playing Craps on a cruise?

    mycoalsmith,

On the last two Cruise Ships I have been on (I go on a bit less than one per year) I observed the following:

On the First Day & the Last Day; their Ships Casino's employed yellow colored Dice, which to my observation & COUNT appeared fair. I played there & came away with a bit of their money.

However, during the days between the First & Last Day, they employed Dark Red Dice, which color I have seen as Weight Biased in the past. Yes, my Count system verified, to my satisfaction, that these Dice were in Fact Significantly Weight Biased.

Playing CRAPS against BIASED Dice is a Losing Process, unless one wishes to play the DON'T Side Grind, which I do not.

I chose to not play their game, but watched the folks that played give away their Hard Earned $$$ against these dice.

Consider the above my personal observation & experience, but; IMHO these Casino's KNEW DAM well which Dice they were using & why!

You'd rather lose, then play the don't ? This might be "fanaticism" at its worst. You realize the idea is to win any way you can, right ? :)

Even if you believe in DI a cruise ship would be random dice. The movement of the ship would insure that. A movement change of a blonde pubic hair on the level of the table will change how the dice react when they hit the table.

Never have been on a cruise but my wife insists we will be on one in the next couple years. I plan on playing the dark side or some sort of steep regression play or 1 hit and down if I play the pass line side.

    von duck,

Reading Comprehension, I Stated ""I chose to not play their game, (i.e. the Biased Dice Game) but watched the folks that played give away their Hard Earned $$$ against these dice.""

I also stated ""On the First Day & the Last Day; their Ships Casino's employed yellow colored Dice, which to my observation & COUNT appeared fair. I played there & came away with a bit of their money.""

Now von duck, Cut the ""You'd rather lose, then play the don't ? This might be "fanaticism" at its worst."" BS.

    Mssthis,

IMHO, You are grossly exadurating with your comment ""A movement change of a blonde pubic hair on the level of the table will change how the dice react when they hit the table".

Cruise ships are HUGE & do not move around like a 14 FOOT BOAT! Granted in a storm they will move around,
but you do not have to play CRAPS then.

As to "mycoalsmith's inquiry, most Cruise ships do have but one CRAPS Table. I have found most to have $5 Minimum bets. During the day, they will likely not be very populated & you can chose your shooting position.

The Newer & Larger CRUISE ships will likely have two CRAPS tables with one @ $10 minimum & it will only open in the evening, when more folks ae playing.

Not exaggerating at all. An amount of movement that a person will never notice will change how a cube weighing a few grams reacts when it hits a table weighing hundreds of pounds.

The change will be too small to be noticed by the human eye but it's there.

    Mssthis1,

Your post indicates that One should be aware of those Minimalistic changes when playing Casino CRAPS!

And YES, that makes DI much more of a FACTOR when playing CRAPS.

    Mssthis1,

You have me laughing at some old memories.

On a few first occasions in my younger days, I was surprised not seeing expected blonde pubes, if you know what I mean. ;) WTF? Things aren't matching up., but ultimately :):D

    So Mssthis1,

You believe that a Blond Pubic Hair under a Craps Table Leg will change the Outcome of DICE thrown thereon, but refuse to believe that there are ""BIASED DICE"" used at times by Casino's?????

By the way, those Biased Dice can be detected, quite easily, with a simple Count Technique, yet you state:

    1) The movement of the ship would insure that (i.e. randomness) . A movement change of a blonde pubic hair on the level of the table will change how the dice react when they hit the table.

    2) An amount of movement that a person will never notice will change how a cube weighing a few grams reacts when it hits a table weighing hundreds of pounds.

The change will be too small to be noticed by the human eye but it's there.

Yes, ""Logic"" appears to be totally missing in items 1) & 2) above!!!
