This is the version I have on vinyl.
Back in the DOS days I once gave a class to users on how to run an application I had written. At the end of the Q&A session one of the students sheepishly asked how to exit any application that had frozen up. My answer went something like, "First, of course, you try to exit normally, for example by entering in 'Q' or 'quit'. If that doesn't work try <Esc>. If that doesn't work try <Ctrl C>. If that doesn't work turn off the machine. If that doesn't work unplug the machine. And if THAT doesn't work DOUBLE TIME OUT OF THE AREA!" Too bad I didn't know of the Josh White song or I would have added "...cuz ya got yoself a really old grey goose!"
And my favorite, <Ctrl><Alt><Del>.
Ah, the good old days when batch files ruled. I think I still have 3.5" disks for WordPerfect 5.1 hiding out somewhere in the basement. Pretty amazing quite a few people still try and find workarounds to get that program up and running under Windows 10.
Q. What is Microsoft best known for?
A. The 640K barrier.
And I have this one in a bottle.
I knew I was leaving something out! I'm sure that was in the list after <Ctrl C>. That was over 30 years ago.
Put this here before but it seems to make more sense now.
