Being it's the 4th of July and I'm an Air Force guy , I thought I would show this video....I like the song and I like the old planes.......I've seen most of them on the flightline at one time or another.........I'm sure some of them are in the boneyard now, but they are beautiful.

My picks for Thursday, July 5, 2018: Happy Music, Part 2

    Happy Music

Soak Up the Sun -- Sheryl Crow. Reached #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 (US) in 2002. Gotta love the video.

All Summer Long -- Kid Rock. Okay, so he "sampled" a few other songs, including Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Werewolves of London (Warren Zevon). Still a pretty good song that made it to #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 (US) in 2008.

Philadelphia Freedom -- Elton John. Another #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 (US) for The Rocket Man, this one in 1975. The song was written in honor of his friend Billie Jean King, who was the owner of the Philadelphia Freedoms tennis team. Of course, with America's Bicentennial the following year, the song was fittingly re-purposed for that event.

Happy -- Pharrell Williams. A #1 chart topper in 2014 per the Billboard Hot 100 (US) and also in numerous other countries. Probably didn't hurt it was featured in the hit movie Despicable Me 2.

Seems no "happy music" set(s) would be complete without this one.

I always liked Neil Young. Now...not so much. If he'd shut his mouth about politics it would help..
    This was my favorite...

Pretty much applies to any celebrity, because almost all of them don't live in the "real world" and for the most part are relatively clueless about how issues affect & concern the average person. Especially true for actors and musicians.

I don't recall hearing about these guys. Had to look them up on Wikipedia.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spooky_Tooth

The song is decent. Looks like Mick Jones (Foreigner) was a member at one point. Perhaps too many lineup changes in a short period of time hindered the band. It might have been easier to list who wasn't a former member of Spooky Tooth, lol -- 22 ((per Wikipedia) is a lot of lineup changes for a band that was "active" (intermittently) for @12 years.
