I much prefer the Boss's rendition of Thunder Road and am confident the Comeback Kid will feel the same way.

    I prefer Robert Mitchum's version.

What if "the boss" lost the ear jewelry,
and you could really understand what he was singing?

What if he lost the ear jewelry,
and wasn't a billionaire appearing to be a commoner?

What if he didn't take the farm subsidy
for having a few chickens on his property in Freehold NJ?

What if he bought your book,
and played craps regularly with that guy Bon Jovi down the street in Red Bank?

    What if he voted Republican?
    Would you prefer his version?

    Oh....and drove a Ferrari...

Robert who? Wasn't he a meat salesman or something? Didn't he marry Rock Hudson?

I don't presume to know your situation, but....

You gotta give it up, 777.
Pushing against something you can't change is gonna make you sick.

Whether it's FOX, CNN, MSLSD, and no matter how informed you think you need to be, or justified in your outrage - the immune system can't take it.

These people scour the world for negativity and dish it up in living color, with dramatic music.

My brother's the strongest guy I know, but a FOX news junky.
    Railed against them all.

Couldn't walk up the stairs - rushed to the hospital.
    Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - the big C.
No family history, whatsoever - True Story!

Everything's on the computer now, anyway.

In fact, listen up everyone...walk over to your TV,
yank it out of the wall,
and toss it on the street below.

Not only will your craps game improve,
but your immune system will thank you for it.

    Ross Perot?
    Now those were some ears...

I have made peace with everyone, not because they deserve it; because I do.
Stubborn is a good characteristic in the right context.

In craps there's this one number, and I gotta tell ya, it sucks. I didn't notice it on the come out, but now whenever it comes up, BAM! I lose all my frikin' bets. What the hell! I even hear it followed by an "out". Someone outta do something about it. It's not fair.

Craps would be so much better if that one number were eliminated. I think I can get a consensus from most of the other players, as they would agree. I could start a movement, a committee, posters, banners, marching in the street. The number circled with a red line through it. Say you're with us, 'cause if you're not, you're against us.

The buffet of life is diverse with all manner of interesting items. I choose what I want and ignore what I don't. In a world of inclusion, pushing against anything, just makes it stronger.

So what have we learned - nothing. Words don't teach.
    What do we remember?
    One word..."ignore".

Kid, you said.." you gotta give it up, 777".....and...... "I have made peace with everyone, not because they deserve it; because I do." ...You're entitled.

I don't make peace Kid......The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Kid, you say, pushing against anything makes it stronger......I say, push it over the cliff and get rid of it.

Thread is beginning to sound more like Jungle Land than Thunder Road. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

777, unfortunately we can't do anything with the 44th finest until it's time for him to go.
