hey guys. just registered. just wanted some input on how u guys started... i just turned 21 3 weeks ago and i spent my bday in vegas. craps is all i played. i used big al's hit it and quit it method and won 7/9 session for +20 units each winning session. the other two sessions i lost my whole 32 unit buy in. last week i bought "get the edge at craps" and i learned a lot about betting, setting, gripping and throwing. today is my third day practicing my throw. im using a stool as my throwing position 6 1/2 feet to 7 feet away from my landing site. i use a drawer from my dresser that measures 13x38 inches. i set it up long ways and throw. i use a cut up pillow case as my felt and it seems to work decent. about 2 days ago i ordered the golden touch dice control book and it came today along with my new two sets of casino dice, and my felt. im looking forward to building my practice rig inside a rather huge suitcase because of its rounded corners and hard shell. im not planning on making my rig until maybe feb because my diamond rubber is still being shipped to my place and the supplier is lagging. ill be going to vegas tomorrow night and will be there until the morning of MLK day. while im there im planning on practicing at the orleans or one of the jankie downtown hotels for low min tables. anyways.. please give me some insight on how u guys started and what you learned the hard way so that i can grow into a shooter. these numbers are my ssr's provided by bone tracker. day one Toss Count 396 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 5.74 day two Toss Count 216 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 6.55 day three (prob throw 5 more 36 roll sessions) Toss Count 144 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 6.86 oh and btw- im setting hard way sets. i have a problem keeping one of the dice on axis. most of the time im throwing yo's... which isnt a bad thing but would love to keep dice on axis and hard.
just got back from vegas. got really busy doing family things while i was there. here are my practice rolls from day 4, 5, and 6. today (day 7) was my day back to LA so i haven't had a chance to throw anything. since i didnt get a chance to hit the casino in vegas, i caught up.. or better yet got ahead of my self reading about craps. ive finished both of my books, get the edge at craps and golden touch dice control revolution.. both are very good books and dont echo too much of the "same story". anyways, here are my rolls the past few days.. less data these days because of how busy i was, but data none the less.. day 4 (had a pretty 25 throws in a row without a 7 this session) Toss Count 36 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 18.00 day 5 Toss Count 72 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 6.55 day 6 Toss Count 36 Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 6.00 also keeping in mind i take about 10 practice throws before i roll...
Sup brother . I wanted to also post my practice round. I was off form work yesterday so i did about 300 rolls and recorded them. these are all the stats i pulled right out of bonetracker. i would sudjest you try out bonetracker and set the hardway set with 4 on top your srr on day one was actually lower than a random shooter this program will evaluate the axis you throw your dice on and tell you other possible outcomes by simulation with the outcome of your actual roll.. then you can see the stats and see which dice set works best for what your are shooting
wow 10.52... thats amazing ironwig. im brwnpandabearj on youtube.. commented on a couple of ur vids. thats crazy man. how long have u been throwing for? its been about a week and a half for me and its pretty frustrating how much of a "random shooter" i am sometimes. ive found out that it takes me about 25 rolls for me to get into the grove of things before i start making some decent streaks of 15-25. 25 is the most ive ever done. i have been using bone tracker from day 1 and im at around 1500 recorded rolls so far with a srr of around 6.4. thats only around 6 less 7's from "random" 1500 throws... whats ur overall average srr?? sometimes i find my self throwing alot of random 11s and 3s when setting up the hardways with the 5's on top. that means that one of the dice are off axis.. any tips?? ill make some videos within the week to show my grip and delivery. i just finished building my new practice rig to get out of the dresser drawer.. ill post some pics soon... let me know some of ur answers. would love to kit with fellow shooters.. i go to vegas almost every other weekend to check on the house we have there.. sometimes i go to tthe strip and sometimes i dont. would love to shoot with u one day.
this is what i would recommed i have been shooting for about 2 months. but you have to remember, as you start and get better your stats wont be as accurate. i practice atleast an hr minimum a day and what i focus on is the grip and release if your releaswe is not the same each time, you will have random results. this is what i would suggest. use a green dice on the left and red on the right and toss them, as you track your bonetracker, you will know where your dice are going off axis the most and you can make adjustments. you can also use the tranpose tab and see what your outcome could of been had you used a different set and start a new tracking sheet with that set and comepare and see how you do. when i first started i was tracking and my shooting was almost different each time, some times more backspin than others, sometimes more loft than others, etc now that you have a larger amount of rolls start over go over all your basics and what you have learned in those 3 weeks and start a new spreadsheet and go from there you will see the drastic change and increase in your srr just make sure you go back to basics and build muscle memory
so i took some of ur advice. i dont have two different sets of dice only two sets of the same colored dice.. so 10 total red casino dice. anyways... i was looking into the transpose like you said and the miniV was giving me a better SRR because it got kept the 7 away the most. i noticed this before but never really wanted to mess with another set because i felt like i should master the hardways set to master the hardways... perfect the dice set for its purpose.. u know??? the miniV is basically shooting to make a 4 or a 10 (im sure u know), but it gives me an awesome amount of 8 and 9s. this is my second day shooting with the miniV and it has given me great results. i also try to manage a consistent grip and throw. for me shooting at a higher angel helps me keep the dice on axis and pitch not soo far off. most of the time im throwing at around 50-60degrees high. but after release you can really see the dice pitching together as if there were a mirror between them... just like the books say. anyways here are my stats for yesterday and todays session so far. ill prob shoot 3 more sets of 36 before the nights over. -----jan 24, (day 13) ------- Toss Count 108 Random Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 7.20 6.00 Box Number to Sevens Ration(BSR) 5.20 4.00 Both Die On Axis 65 60.19% 44.44% Random On-Axis Primary-Face hits 11 10.19% 11.11% 15.05% Single-Pitch hits 40 37.04% 22.22% 30.09% Double-Pitch hits 14 12.96% 11.11% 15.05% One-Die Off Axis L: 26 37.04% 44.44% R: 14 T: 40 Both Die Off Axis 3 2.78% 11.11% -----------jan 25 (day 14)----------------- Toss Count 36 Random Sevens to Rolls Ratio (SRR) 18.00 6.00 Box Number to Sevens Ration(BSR) 14.00 4.00 Both Die On Axis 19 52.78% 44.44% Random On-Axis Primary-Face hits 4 11.11% 11.11% 13.19% Single-Pitch hits 11 30.56% 22.22% 26.39% Double-Pitch hits 4 11.11% 11.11% 13.19% One-Die Off Axis L: 4 33.33% 44.44% R: 8 T: 12 Both Die Off Axis 5 13.89% 11.11% in some ways i feel like im cheating my self from practice by shooting with the miniV because im not really controlling the dice as i want... just controlling the dice to my current skill level... what do u think??
i asgree what ever hardway set you start using and log on bonetracker keep using i do beleive that you should keep using the same set but i was just saying that your rolls wont match because everything you have learned is going to make a better shooter so you will have to start a new tracking sheet but yea, in live play, if you need a certain number then use what ever tranpose shows you to help you out but during practice, use the hardways everytime im making a new video today [email protected] email me
