and what was the federal debt payments in 1945, what was the over-all
cost of government in terms of the % of income earned taken by the
federal government,, what was the cost of government regulations and how did that affect business..
Jacob do you know the total cost of government regulations under Obama, what per centage of the GDP that was and then when you add that to the 15% corporate income take, what was the total cost of government to small business... do you now the difference between that cost and that cost to Canadian business which has bought many us companies....
Just how much money are federal regulations costing our economy? The answer appears to be quite a lot. Every year economist Clyde Wade Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute releases a report, entitled “The Ten Thousand Commandments” analyzing federal regulations and their costs. Crews’ analysis found that in 2010 the federal government spent around $55.4 billion dollars funding federal agencies, and enforcing existing regulation. But these costs barely compare to the compliance costs that regulation imposes on the economy. Crews’ report cites the work of economists Nicole V. Crain and W. Mark Crain, whose study of the net cost of regulations determined that in 2009 federal regulation cost businesses and consumers $1.75 trillion, or nearly 12% of America’s 2009 GDP. As a comparison, in the same year, corporate pre-tax profits for all businesses totaled about $ 1.46 trillion
The cost of federal regulations was more than the profit.... now you take out the 100 largest corporations in the country, those like Apple etc that
have world wide sales.... you can imagine what a medium business is up against.......is it any wonder we have not been able to GDP growth rate above that of inflation...
YOu could get rid of half of the federal agencies, save that money, cut
useless regulations and have a much better chance for the economic conditions to improve better than subsistence levels.... that is good for our kids and grandkids....
This is a great piece of art,
Who said old guys can't rock?
What you are not including is the regulations need regulators. People who work for government at all levels who's sole purpose it to see the regs are abided by. Thusly creating more jobs which keeps the unemployment artificially inflated. Can you say Ponzi scheme? So when these regulations go away and jobs too expect AFSHME to start bitching/marching in the streets. Government costs will drop like a rock.
