Been playing about a year now, about 1X/month. Love the game! Really appreciate the sound advice in this forum (not the petty bs). By "math of the game" I was referring to the probability fact that every role is an independent event. However, true probability would need a very large sample size and I prefer/have witnessed "the trend is your friend!"

OK, this is a good question, and I think I have a decent answer. First of all, when calculating this thing, the amount played on odds bets, is not a factor, (in theory). The odds on the individual bets, don't seem to make that much difference either, ie. the "hold" for roulette, is not much different than for baccarat, though the odds on individual bets, are substantially different, roulette about 4 times the vig. The "hold" percentage, appeares to be more a factor of player habit, then anything else. During tough economic times recently, the "hold on all games was working steadily down, probably because the player aggregate, was playing "tighter" with their money. As the economy improved (thanks to Obama) :D, the hold on all games showed a steady increase. The exception to this rule being some very difficult to explain spikes, in the game of baccarat.
If I bought in for say $500, and played maybe 6-8 hours, and I'm winning some and losing some, and at end of the session I'm down $75, it is not inconceivable that I've placed $5,000, in action for the session, and this $75 loss correlates to a hold, of 15%, and $75 correlates to 1.5% of the $5,000, placed in action. Next time you play, jot down all $ placed in action, and just see, how much you put into play. If you win a bet and leave it up, that's another bet placed in action. :)

And the trend is also your nemesis. What do you mean by "petty BS"? :D

Very true. By BS I mean the attacks on each other, rather than respectfully disagree. . Seems like they go back a long ways.

You will be on that number the second time it rolls
after you place your come bet
Place that number after the come out roll instead
and you will be on it the first time it hits
not the second , allowing you to collect
one additional time on that number

Correct. Place to come if you want to catch the first hit if it occurs. First day playing craps?

I see your point and there is a lot to the point that you lose the small ha on a pass line
bet many times over so the casino makes more. I get that..

My point is for real life play and the math of the game.... you cant decide in your car
on the way to the casino that you are going to play the lowest house advantage bets
and you will be alright.....you need to make the decisions on what to bet on at the casino
when you see what is happening.

It never will change on here because the guys that in the end really control the
site have the opinion that everything we say or do is a waste of time.

the reason for that is respect... pure and simple. Now you go on the GTC site and
you don't see any of the nonsense....now mind you that is not because all the guys
actually think the same. the ones that differ just done talk about it because they
respect the others guys and the site itself. I disagree with Dom on a couple of
things and I wont suggest those items there because the over-all affect of that
would not be positive for the site.

Bullshit!!! Utter, & total Bullshit Billy!!
There is no STRONG disagreements for FEAR of being ostracized from THAT forum, or any other forum wherein the Moderator has a " Lock" on things. Lets keep it real.

Jacob simply TOLERATES more than what other forums do, & THATS the REAL problem that SOME posters have.
They feel insulted when someone says " Fuck off", I don't agree with a particular subject.
NOT saying that it's polite, or the best/intelligent way to discuss things, but it is what it is, & SOMEHOW...I DONT think it's gonna change.
Personally, if I felt that I was being disrespected/ridiculed, or not taken seriously, & it just "warmed my Ass" every time someone said something/anything contrary to All of the hard work & dedication that I've put into the craft....I'd either ignore them COMPLETELY, tell them: " You're wrong, & kiss my Ass while you're at it, or.....Find greener pastures.

No one runs, owns this forum except Jacob, so....insinuating that "others" run people off, start uneccessary shit is.....well.....Hilarious!!!!

Those that have left...claiming that TDVegas has fucked up the forum.....JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO FIRE BACK AT HIM!!!!
This is not just TDVegas's forum. We are ALL participants!!!

As far as "liking" TDVegas....yep, he's OK with me, because from DAY ONE....his opinions have never swayed.
    SAME THING WITH JAMES!
Even though I might disagree with James....I respect a person that " Holds his ground", & stands 100% firmly behind what he believes in.

    On craps....

James Hall: How do we kill it. There's gotta be a way of killing it. How? How do we do it?

    TDV: You can't.

    James Hall: That's bullshit.

TDV: You still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you? The perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility toward you.

    James Hall: You admire it?

TDV: I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or morality. It takes no prisoners.

James Hall: Look, I am... I've heard enough of this shit.

    TDV: Last word?

    James Hall: What?

TDV: I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
    :);)

If someone isn't enjoying their time here...I simply have no words. What are they doing here?

He is free to discuss anything on DI with James or anyone else. He ran into the same problems here as he did on WofV. To.....a......T

This encapsulates your entire opinion of the game of craps
and is exactly why you cannot find a way to win
    STRUCTURAL PERFECTION? Hog squash ,
I do however see why you think that way ,
anybody who would forward the argument that a trend has no brginning
could certainly hold this opinion also

I do understand what I am dealing with , I am dealing with a game
that is very DIFFICULT to beat , difficult , but not impossible ,
people are doing it everyday . What one person can do
by accident every now and then , a person with the will
and desire to do so , can figure out how to do it
    on a more consistent basis

Your sympathies are totally misplaced , save those
for those folks who have yet to find the many ways to win
but rather than offering sympathy guide them
on a path whereby they might find a way to win

Instead of the constant deluge of , "DOOM & GLOOM"
offer some encouragement and maybe a hint or two
how they too might win one now and then

Some people , even some on this forum , think winning is possible
but more importantly some are winning , talk to them
ask how they are able to win
"LTWOQ"? even you , TDVegas could learn , I know you
think that is not possible but it is
