There were a few yesterday. Detroit last night. I thought Miami had no chance at 3-0 while Raiders weren't going to start 0-3 under Chuckie. Buffalo, Washington. Giants.

I know some say betting sports is easier than craps in terms of winning $$....I don't see it. Anything that can happen...won't, and anything that isn't supposed to happen...will.

Even if you took a teaser on Minnesota and knocked it down to -6.5...ya stil got crushed.

A few bettors are happy this morning...a few not so happy...

The NFL is about parity. Ideally, the league wants each team to finish with an 8-8 record. IMO, that's not necessarily good for betting.

College football, on the other hand, is really about the haves and the have nots. Oh, sure, there are teams such as Buffalo that beat up on Power 5 teams (Rutgers, P5 in conference affiliation only, train wreck otherwise). But you also get teams like Ohio State and Penn State both covering even while playing a "trap" game.

Well We finally made it back from another , what TDVegas
likes to call our , "VAULT ASSAULT" , as you might guess , it was
A "WOW WHACKER" . After a couple of conversations with the box man
Leon had to finally go to our , "FURTIVE" grip.
We have been trying to get him to do that for some time ,
After some aggravation he finally did and they left him alone.
He is a creature of habit , slow to alter anything that works

TDVegas seems to think that the casinos are not terribly
concerned about dice setting. I am posting a craps game video
read the sign on the table just in front of the dealer
    "NO DICE SETTING"
and watch these guys especially the one playing the 6 and 8 , "HILARIOUS"
But check out the sign .
I believe it was TDV that said no casino has ever posted signs to that affect .

I played there quite a few times in the 1990's while my company was building the chemical demilitarization facility at the Tooele Army Depot. It was called Silver Smith back then. Nice place but I didn't do very well there. Same story at Stateline (now Wendover Nugget), which on one visit was using dice like ones you would find in a board game. (They may even have had dimples for pips; don't remember.)

I didn't bother to watch the video but will call attention to the layout. Typical for northern Nevada. [1][1] barred on the Don't and no separate DC box (DPs get moved behind).

In 1984 we opened the airbase back up in Wendover as a temporary airfield for two weeks to play war games with the boys at Nellis.

We called it Bendover you're in Wendover. lol.

I didn't gamble in casinos at all back then. Trying to keep the old A7's airworthy was my form of gambling. We lost two engines to FOD the first day until we got the runway cleaned up.

    James,

Looks loke they took the DICE from the one guy that wished to ""SET"" the Dice !

Only way to stop that, is to NOT PLAY there!

Yes, when the folks remaining all fail to WIN Occasionally, they too will exit that Casino...

I've long known about this in Wendover.

Never have I said no casino has ever posted a sign. That sign has been there for at least a couple years.

The reasons or reason for it wasn't specifically known. It could have been done to speed up play. It could have been done to thwart local dice sliders intent on skirting the rules of play...especially with an inexperienced crew. It could have been a fear of dice influence.

Why don't you call them directly and ask? I've done that legwork before at Ballys and Paris. Now...it's your turn. 775-664-1900. Montego Bay Casino & Resort. Ask them to connect you to a pit person, box man, floor manager on the casino floor.

Some people will always play there. It's a canned market, a short drive from Salt Lake City that has no gambling. They probably do it to speed up play as those places are usually packed on weekends.

One thing I have noticed since moving here is that there is definitely a difference from the large resorts to the small casinos in how they want the "action" to move quicker (especially with low minimums). I've seen pits advising roulette dealers to "get moving quicker". I would imagine this applies to all table games. There is defintely a difference in large resort vs. small time casino.

I can imagine Wendover is an out of the way, small time casino where they want the action to move along at a decent pace. Not sure if that's the reason for the sign...but it is logical.

    This is Barney,

After looking at the video with the suppercomputer because the alleged sign had to much of the glare to read it most accurately a cleaned up image is available and shown below:

    TDV,

The only place that I have seen a NO DICE SETTING SIGN @ a CRAPS Table, was about 10 years back @ a Casino in the Dominican Republic. I asked what that sign meant & they stated ""we do not allow DICE Setting or Dice Rubbing on the Table"", so I did not play there.

I played a bit of BJ & asked the lady dealer where else they had CRAPS. She said @ the Hilton up the Island, I said that I'd drive over there tomorrow, to which she said don't drive, the Bandito's may ROB YOU on the way. She suggested a TAXI, as per her, the Bandetio's do not bother the Taxi's.

Several other folks we ran into indicated that they were told, not to venture out after dark. That was & the first & last time I'll go to the Dominican Republic.

It’s true what she said about taxis, although they don’t have the smoothest ride.

Wendover is basically a wide spot in the road two hours drive from anywhere. Granted, it's a wider than normal wide spot on a bigger than normal road, but it is nothing more than an oasis of sorts for east-west travelers on I-80. As Mssthis1 observed its "locals" are primarily Salt Lake City denizens.

During my Tooele days there were six casinos in "town". I played at five of them -- couldn't find the sixth which, quite appropriately, had the word "Hidden" in its name -- none of which had signs mentioning dice setting or skunk hats. Dealers were surprisingly competent, but given the number I recognized from, or later in, other parts of Nevada I strongly suspect they were merely passing through, waiting for an opportunity closer to civilization.

Any guesses on why you think the no setting sign is there, at that casino? I know there was a report of an off strip casino having the same type of sign (I cannot confirm true)...but this casino in Wendover would be the only one I know of to actually post a sign.

Obviously there could be others that simply tell you "no setting" when the dice are pushed to you.

Any guesses on why? Well let's see, I can come up with only two possibles. One would be fear of DI's, the other would be to speed up play. If you just want to speed up play, why not a "shot clock" that way you cover all drag asses, not just setters. :) No, I think this is fear of DI's, also known as "DeMangaphobia". :D

I think Montego Bay, Wendover Nugget, Rainbow (formerly Nevada Crossing), and Peppermill are now all owned by the same corporation, so I would expect the same policy to be posted at all four of those casinos. If that is not the case then I have to guess it is to keep the game moving. Actually, absent evidence to the contrary I have to guess that is the reason regardless of where the "no setting" policy is posted and how strictly it is enforced. Given Wendover's location far from the maddening wow wacker's ignoble strife I cannot envision any true DI routinely making the trek to assault their vaults, particularly given the $500 table limit! OTOH I can envision a computer crapster who has read up on DI, practiced a Reverse Gramalkin throw with a half twist in the get laid position (4.2 degree of difficulty and a real chick magnet by all accounts) making sure everyone knows he's the real deal by taking 30 seconds to become emotionally involved with the dice.
