of course it can be legitimately argued.

it is human nature---in the very genes of homo sapiens---to either seek control over, or at a minimum accommodate nature to their own presumptive benefit...such amazing nature brought control over very dangerous fire...it made movement of goods and bodies easy with the wheel...it brought about the ancient, primitive, seemingly impossible dream of flight...it brought virtually the entirety of human knowledge to your hand, your pocket, even your wrist...and on and on.

whether any given control is possible is absolutely beside the point...only the indomitable, virtually involuntary, genetic attempt is germane here.

the casino puts the dice right in your hand...anything other than an attempt by some to control or influence them would be positively UNhuman. no way no how such cannot happen...

...the bank craps debate of skill vs luck started on Day One and is forever...no debate without legitimate arguments on both sides lasts that long.
    exactly correct!

the excitement of it...you have nailed "why peoples gamble".

personally i am a skill skeptic but do allow for its possibility, doubting only its manifestation but while i profoundly disagree & question its reality, i do respect the opinion...

where i part company with the skill set is not with my forceful disagreement of their delusional ideas but rather with the disrespect by a few that those holding to luck and the love of gambling do not have a legitimate outlook.

these claim to gamble to make money and fund their lifestyle, while sometimes even disdaining fun and excitement...their pursuit is certainly possible in games of skill like poker or even handicapping sports but when their game is bank craps it is a fool's paradise.

that is all fine and good, their choice, their responsibility but when they disrespect the goals and objectives of others with things like LTWOQ they insult tastelessly and improperly the reasons behind the fun and entertainment of others.

unless one's goals are identical to theirs, one is stupid or a fool...to riff off a phrase these commonly spew forth, "just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it can't be done", "just because i play for fun & entertainment --and willing to pay for it--doesn't mean i am stupid"

i still cannot get past the fact that these pretend to not know why peoples gamble...i mean these veteran gamblers have to be pretending to not understand any or others' reality in order to offer such unsavory insults.

    Nonsense.

no one says that except you.

nothing craps is excluded from the laws of physics...this does not mean that everything craps happens.

take DI, for example, dice influence...virtually everyone agrees that physics allows for it (anyone disagreeing has either misspoke or is in error like your post)...there is a DI debate but it is over whether it is actually happening, not over whether it is physically possible.

The problem with the argument is the fact that one side holds as their banner
the theory called , "LUCK" a nonexistent factor . Those that hold to the hope that , "LUCK"
will somehow save the day are truly the parties who are delusional
They hold that luck is the factor by which they are able to capture that elusive and so rare , "WIN"
"LUCK" exist only in the deluded minds of , "SUPERSTITIOUS , lazy or ignorant people.
"LUCK" is a crutch invented by lazy people who will not spend
the time , effort or energy to succeed
There is no , "Luck" there is , only , "SUCCESS"
There is no , "BAD LUCK" there is only failure

People who succeed or win will credit , "LUCK" so as not to be accused of ,
    "CHEST THUMPING"

People who fail will call it , "BAD LUCK" so as not to appear to be a , "FAILURE

Do the work learn to win / succeed

If you win / succeed accept the , "CREDIT"
If you lose / fail accept the responsibility
but stop using superstition to mask your failures , it's , "UNSEEMLY"
and makes you appear , "WEAK" LTWOQ , "LEARN TO WIN OR QUIT"
It has been said and repeated many times that to tell people to learn to win or quit is insulting . Some people find the truth hurtful , sometimes the truth hurts

LEARN TO WIN OR QUIT IS THE BEST ADVICE ANY GAMBLER WILL EVER GET

Using luck as an alibi is a "CRUTCH" used by very weak and superstitious people
    STOP IT

whhooooosh! ZOOM! right over your head

    again

    ------------

all already knew what your reaction would be...your disrespect for the worldview of the majority of gamblers cannot be dislodged.

the ideas expressed in my post were for others to benefit from or at least chew on.

    oscuro -

THAT is EXACTLY the mentality of the non-believers on THIS forum !

However, there are SOME who did " LEARN " how to " FISH " -

And would rather " go fishing " than go to the supermarket !

Obviously, YOU are in the " shopping for fish " category -

As opposed to the " Gone Fishing " group !
