My wife had a business meeting at The Rivers on Tuesday evening - 09/19/17. She kindly asked me if I wanted to go along so I could gamble while she was her meeting. How could I refuse? The night started out not going well. I would make some bets, and the 7 would show. I prefer to be to the first right of the stick, but was at position 2, to the right of the stick. Roll 1: 7, 8, 3, 7 out. Roll 2: 8, 8 winner. 7, 10, 10 winner. 6, 11, 5, 4, 7 out. Roll 3: 6, 6 winner. 8, 9, 6, 3, 5, 11, 12, 2, 3, 11, 4, 5, 9, hard 10, 5, 10, 9, 2, 8 winner. 8, 7 out. One lady who had rolled 3 times before never made a point before the 7 showed. On her 4th roll, she ended up winning a 5 point fire bet. I had put down a Don't Pass bet on her when she started, so never put anything on the fire bet. I missed that one. The dice came back to me, and I started my 4th roll: 8, 10, 4, 10, 8 winner. Hard 8, hard 8, winner. 11, 7, 9, 6, 2, 6, 5, Hard 6, 12, 12, Hard 6, 6, 8, 6, 12, 6, 5, hard 8, 6, hard 6, 11, 6, 5, 6, 5, 8, 6, 5, 7 out. Somewhere in there, I missed writing down 2 numbers, as when I finished, the pit crew told me I was at #1 for the Hot Shooters with a roll of 37 numbers. 23 numbers short of the bounty prize of $2700.00 for getting a 60 roll shoot. Sadly, I did not press the 5, 6, or 8 hardly at all. I usually play the Iron Cross and mostly roll quite a few Field numbers - as I did for the first half of my roll. The last half of my roll was mostly 6's with some 5 & 8's mixed in. I was up $175.00 for the night, so was happy with myself, but of course, when you look back on what you could have collected, you think "Oh . . . should have, would have, could have." I left the casino around 9:00, and figured - "Well, I'll have to come back tomorrow now shortly after noon, to see if my 37 roll continues to hold 1st place. I showed up Wednesday 09/20/17 around 12:30. I checked with the Players Club to find out I had got bumped down to 2nd place, but would still win a prize. I got $50.00 cash plus two $25.00 Match Play coupons. My wife had come with me, and was tired from her meeting night, so I knew I couldn't stick around to play much or to use my 2 coupons. It was a slow table. I'm not sure why it was slow, but at least one of the crew seemed to be new and was slow in payouts. There were also a lot of prop bets that when winning, slowed the game down to a crawl. Figuring I would only be able to roll once, I started looking around the table on who I could make a quick win on by placing a Don't Pass. I found the a younger guy who I figured wouldn't do well and put down one of $25.00 Match Play coupons. He rolled a 5, and after a few rolls, rolled a 7. I win! The dice finally got around to me. This time I was at the middle of the end of the table. Not a good place for me as I don't like throwing from there, but what are you going to do when that was the only place to get in? I placed my $25.00 chip and Match Play coupon on the Pass and started rolling: 7 winner!! 4, 9, 2, 8, 9, 10, Hard 8, 8, 5, 9, 6, 8, 7 out. When I play, I usually like to collect the first wins until I have my initial bets paid for and then start adding from there. Sadly, my roll wasn't long enough to add on much. I did stick around for one more lady to roll, and placed $10.00 on Don't Pass. First roll was a 3, so I collected my winnings and put down another $10.00. She rolled a 9 and keep on rolling. She got to about the 13th roll and I was debating on taking down my Don't when she rolled the 9. Since she was doing good, I decided to start betting. 8, 8 winner. That was quick. She rolled another 8 and about 9 more numbers before 7ing out, so I made a little bit on her. By the time I colored up, I was up $130.00 for the day. $305.00 for the past 2 days, so am extremely happy. In the future, I certainly need to start pressing my bets harder.
