He’s running 43-50-1 (46%) on the NFL. He has some running count of picks that’s like 2,600 picks in total and running 58% win. I doubt the number but can’t verify all 2,600.

I can verify 46%....NFL. This year. Frankly, that’s all I would care about....season to season. He would be middle of pack in our group. Certainly not paying him for 46%.

Best I can tell he’s part of a group of guys who are acting independently but most likely they use the same web hosting service. My money says they are all tied into each other somehow.

I would find it more believable if he was crunching and handicapping 1 sport. So called expert in that realm. To list like 6 different sports as an expert....meh.

Here were this weekends picks. A job.....done. 2-2-1

I honestly don’t think someone would believe he would sell a 58% win rate....AND it was over 60% not long ago. Then again, these subscribers are shelling out $150/month just for him. I’d hate to think they subscribe to others at the same time.

PT Barnum quote comes to mind.

I tend to agree. These guys become locker room cancers. Owners and GM’s are willing to take a chance and seemingly more often than not....the decision implodes.

    The running count is ridiculous....

He could lose 100 of his next 100 picks and he would still be 56% win rate.

Lotta good that does the guy who bet those 100 games.

    Rules question.....

In overtime, can a team score twice?

    For example....

If the Eagles kicked a FG....Giants get ball. 1st play, Manning throws an interception which is returned for a TD...or does the game end as soon as the intercept is made? What if Manning fumbles in his own end zone and Philly recovers? TD? Or if he's sacked in the end zone? a safety?

    https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/2019-nfl-rulebook/#rule-16.-overtime-procedures

    (4) If the second team loses possession by an interception or fumble, the down will be permitted to run to its conclusion, and all rules of the game will be enforced as customary, including awarding points scored by either team during the down. If the second team scores a touchdown on the down after regaining possession, it is the winner. Only fouls that require the down to be replayed, fouls that negate a score, or palpably unfair acts will be enforced.

Be sure to read the various notes for the above provision (which I haven't included).

I said it was the best I've felt, never said I felt "good" about them. Interesting, that YOUR "brilliance", would leave you only one game ahead of my complete incompetence. :) Good thing for me, I don't bet this game. How about you TD, how much have you dropped this season between your bets, and paying the "touts". :D "It ain't over till it's over". Everybody is still "mathematically" alive.

    TD,

Short answer is yes, a team can score twice in overtime.

Now Roller, here's another one or two for you. As I understand in overtime, each team will have an opportunity to possess the ball at least once unless there is a touchdown scored or a defensive score.

    1. What if the first team holds the ball for the entire 10 minute overtime period and kicks the game winner as time expires?

    2. What if on the kickoff the ball bounces off the helmet of the return man and is recovered by the kicking team who goes on to kick a FG. Has the receiving team actually had a possession?

    I need a solid.
Does anyone have a picture of Joe Theismann when LT broke his leg in that horrific sack?
At the time I remember a photo of Theismann lying on the ground with his lower leg basically facing in the wrong direction. I cannot seem to find that anywhere and figure it was probably removed as it was too gruesome. If anyone has it or can find it please let me know.

It was tough then....now it a bunch of pussies...compared to then..........I remember back in the 50's playing sandlot tackle football....our town against a nearby town.....you'd have some rich kids wearing a helmet, pads, cleets....I wore a sweatshirt and a worn out pair of keds......look at some old football film to see what I mean.

What incompetence?? You're making gut selections...and it hasn't worked out. Neither has mine. Frankly, we are all in the red....money wise.

So is the "most feared man in the sports book".....Dominator.

I've already told ya....these casinos know what they're doing. At least we have 8 guys willing to step up and pick. That gets points in my book.

I tried a baseball system a few years ago. Only take teams that have won (bet for) or lost (bet against) 3 games in a row. Bet the streak continues. If they played each other...no wager. It was shit after 2 months of daily wagers.

It's a tough business to crack open even a little bit....frankly, all gambling is. Excuse me if I roll my eyes at the guys actually charging people for their picks. You and I both know that is PT Barnum at work.

All in fun here....we will see how it plays out. As it looks, making money for anyone is off the table this season.

You put up a 5-0 and 4-1.....right back in it. Horn did just that. I’m doing my best to do the same.

Yes, got it. Then I was wrong. The Eagles were 8.5 favorites. Even though the game was tied at the end of regulation....they could still cover. My thinking was from a spread point of view....the Giants had covered once regulation ended as the most Philly could score was 6 points in OT.

    Not true. FG....sack, fumble, TD.....3 points plus 6 = 9....Philly covers.

    Live and learn.

Another scenario....Philly kicks FG. Giants get ball. Manning throws interception, player fumbles, Giant player picks up and runs for a TD. Giants win.

Based on what I read...game over.

With the 2 minute warning and 2 time outs...while it's possible to have a 10+ minute drive, not likely to chew up the entire clock.

First team wins in that scenario 1.

ARTICLE 4. OVERTIME IN PRESEASON AND REGULAR SEASON
The following shall apply to overtime games in the preseason and regular season.

    1. There shall be a maximum of one 10-minute period, even if the second team has not had an opportunity to possess the ball or if its initial possession has not ended. If the score is tied at the end of the period, the game shall result in a tie.

In Scenario 2, that's a turnover and the kicking team, which recovered the ball, wins on the subsequent made FG.

    ARTICLE 3. EXTRA PERIOD

    (e) The opportunity to possess applies only during kicking plays. A kickoff is the opportunity to possess for the receiving team. If the kicking team legally recovers the kick, the receiving team is considered to have had its opportunity. A punt or field goal attempt that crosses the line of scrimmage and is muffed by the receiving team is considered to be an opportunity to possess for the receiving team. Normal touching rules by the kicking team apply.
