What is the deal with all of these missed kicks today?
Haushka of the Bills simply looked like he was kicking in practice. All 3 games indoors and on carpet.
Rough games today. Didn't expect much from the Lions....but they somehow managed to stay in it with a 3rd string QB. In the end, this organization will screw up a glass of water....so I wasn't surprised the Bears pulled it out.
I wasn't sure on the Bills covering...maybe. Didn't expect them to win going away. Dallas has a coach that will get them to the dance...and no further. The solace there was watching Jerry Jones seethe in his box. I think the networks take pride in showing this side. I know of no other team whose owner is constantly flashed on the big screen.
Matt Ryan sacked 9 times. No team is going to overcome that...although Saints kick off team tried in vain. How the hell do you give up 2 on sides kicks in 2 attempts when the going rate is like 3 in 37? Sean Payton looked like he wanted to fire the special teams coach on the spot...LOL.
NFL Top 100 defensive line and linebackers announced:
Biggest surprises: Willie Davis, Carl Eller didn't make it; 3 KC members from the 60's made it (Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell deserved it but I didn't expect Buck Buchanan to be named). Buck was fantastic but I didn't think that he could hang with Lilly, Olsen and Page from that era. Just my opinion.
The GB Packers are without a defensive rep so far despite FIVE World Championships in the 60's and KC had none. Maybe Herb Adderley or Willie Wood will still get in. I have to think that Titletown Fans are pissed that Davis AND/OR Ray Nitschke didn't get picked. Don't World Championships matter? I have to admit that I am partial to the players of the late 50's thru the mid 70's. The exclusion of Mike Singletary will be debated.
Next week's 13 Defensive Backs and 6 Specialty teamers will be even tougher.
Freddie Kitchens took the Mrs. to see the new Mr. Rogers movie. He thought it might be a good time to wear his "PITTSBURGH STARTED IT" tee shirt. Smart move, Fred. Damn liar.
He probably has a "Mason Rudolph is a Racist" tee in his closet too.
Your sorry ass will be wearing a "HELP WANTED" shirt at season's end.
How would YOU know who started anything? It's all here say isn't it.
Ok my week 13 picks
You waited until game day to pick the Panthers...?
shoulda just said “gimme the cowboys x2 today”.
Here in NE Ohio, we had the Browns-Steelers game on TV. No early Fox game (49ers-Ravens) because of the tv rule. Can't wait to see that replay on the NFL Network. The Browns could have won another one. It could have gone either way. Baker had a good first half but Duck outplayed him down the stretch. Look for Odell to bitch up a storm. He had 3 catches for 29 yards. Cleveland is 5-7 now and need to win out to get a wildcard berth. They face the Ravens in 3 weeks.
Will Teeshirt Freddie see another week as head coach? He sucks.
Lamar Jackson + Justin Tucker is a helluva pair.
In retrospect, the Panthers can't spot anybody 10 points. Their play inside the Red Zone, is absolutely pathetic.
Speaking of the cowboys game. Did you see the idiot on the last 4th down play cover the QBs fumble, instead of try to pick it up and get it across the first down marker? These guys spend all week working on football, why don't they know what to do in a given situation?
Gotta love those Jets....just when they begin to start creeping up the hill, they lose outright to the 0-11 Bengals. Probably should have looked more closely at this game with Dalton in there.
Teams like the Titans, Colts, Texans....coin flips from week to week. No idea what shows up.
You are right, Duck. The answer is that 'you can't coach stupid'. You see it more and more. Another frequent play involves trying to steal the ball instead of tackling, giving the runner many additional yards. Seems that a lot of players are more concerned about showing off rather than thinking of the team. How many stupid penalties cost their team victories? The best (coached) teams, however, do this a lot less frequently.
A lot of these roughing the passer calls at 15 yards are very iffy...to put it mildly.
If they are going to call them in this manner....maybe cut it down to a 5 or 10 yard penalty instead of the 15. Save the egregious hits for 15 yards.
Chuckie looks like he's in constant constipation mode.
I'm 1-2 going into the late games where I have the Raiders and the Cards who are losing by a combined 64-0. At least my Ravens got another victory.
How the hell do the Chargers pull a pass interference there!!??
The defender altered his course to collide with the receiver, and he had no idea of where the ball was. That is legitimate pass interference, but they only call it when they want to.
