Write the book Alan! Only way you will insure that you won't one day say, "I wish I had of written that book.". :)

I assume you don't believe anyone can make a living playing craps?

    I think it's extremely unlikely.

There you go again!...always with the uber cautious, albeit literally accurate answer (not to say it is not admirable, especially for a probability student...just mildly frustrating)...

ok...how about this: do you believe that there is anyone that is >>reliably<< making a living shooting craps?

I'm glad it bothers someone else besides me.......trying to cover all your bases is not necessarily an admirable quality, I don't think. We're not building a space craft here.

We are not "mud wrestling" either, although at times it might seem that way. :) Why would it bother you that a probabilities expert wants to be right, it would bother me more if they didn't care about being right.

What do you want from me, anyway? >:) I don't think so, but even the Wizard has left the door open a little bit on dice influence. I have shown that IF a certain degree of control is possible, a player edge is obtained. Once that is true, then the whole "long term" thing turns right around: the more one plays, the more likely to be ahead.

Being right is not the issue.........if you don't understand what I'm saying in this regard I won't be able to get thru to you.

The words 'probability' and 'precise' are oxymorons.

Do you yourself believe in dice control or influence?

"Do you yourself believe in dice control or influence?"

No, but I'm not absolutely sure.

If you quote, people can tell what post you are answering. Just a hint.

How about array residency, array orientation or dice hierarchy?

My answer exactly. No, I do not believe it. Nor does the wizard of odds believe it has been manifested, allowing only that it is possible. Of course it is possible and I too am not "absolutely" sure but...

...during 41 years at the rail I have witnessed many an adamant shooter who fancied that he could "influence" the dice...what I haven't witnessed is anything that looks to be other than a random roll...

...notwithstanding I really do enjoy being in their presence at the table...after all they cant hurt anything...tom p

Onautopilot.....You say I don't know what probability means....I don't know why you say this. I am a probability expert.

You probably never heard of the 50-50-90- rule. I didn't think so newbie.

The 50-50-90 rule: anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

See.................What else you wanna to know.

As Yogi Berra would say, "He didn't write everything he wrote." Speaking of The Sage of the Diamond, you don't suppose Yogi has adopted a nom de guerre and taken up craps, do you?
