actually he has had some good stuff in the past
because I practice dice setting and have for years , there are a couple sets I use that allow me those hard ways , because of the sets I use and the way I throw them I rarely hit the 4 or 10 hard ways so I never bet them . On one trip to Vegas I hit 5 hard 10s in a row the dealers laughed their @$$es off

I have played at casinos where all Buy bet vig is taken on wins only and Place 4|10 bets automatically become Buy bets. Such houses leave a Buy button in the number box area. It has been a while since I have played at such a house so don't hold me to this, but I believe it was at one or two of the casinos in downtown Las Vegas.
I use the colorful variation of Eddie's Hardway Parlay: $5-$25-$100. Hit the triple after a mere four years of playing it, so it is possible.

Not even a place bettor let alone a hardways player, I have hit the trifecta 3 times!, but only at 5 to 25 to 111 and off in what I am guessing is less than fifty $5 tries at it.

Have never failed to get a third hit after the second, but fail a lot at getting one hit, this being the major reason I stay off the bet.

No Baron, I toss them a white and come down with the $111 winner. They push me an orange or two purples.

The idea is to collect 1K on the win.

It's NOT a 1% chance, it's about 2.8% for each. In reality, everybody rarely hits these numbers, except for Dave, who can throw them at will.

Jimmy weren't the Mesa crew worried about copyright infringement with your square to square craps tossing class? I swore by Dick Aultman's "Square to Square Golf Swing" back in 1971. I must admit my go to dice toss follows the square to square model.

As a matter of fact I taught some of the principles of the square to square golf swing thingy at least the parts that were physically sound
The difference here is SQUARE 2 SQUARE Craps isn't impacting their cash flow any
The mechanics of square 2 square craps have a great deal in common with square to square golf swing
but I doubt seriously they are going to bother with a law suit
The most they could get out of it would be 100 pair of dice , three or four craps tables and probably 20 or 30 thousand poker chips
and before that would happen they would tell me to quit using the name
In that case I would just start calling it BEN HOGAN POWER CRAPS or some such

    LID,

Inventive Patents only last for (the patent term is either 17 years from the issue date or 20 years from the filing date of the earliest conception).

Thus one could use the Techniques at will, assuming they originated way Back in 1971!

Now Patenting ""Square to Square"" would require a Subject like ""Golf Swing"", thus ""Square to Square Craps Throw""" would not infringe on the previous Patent for ""Square to Square Golf Swing"".

    von duck,

Unfortunately that no longer works as an advantage to the Blackjack Player, with the Casino's enhancing their take with the following changes @ Blackjack:

    (1) No longer providing "Grandfathering" at tables

    (2) Short Deck Re-shuffles

    (3) Continuous Shuffling Machines

    (4) Hitting "Soft 17"

    (5) Paying Less than (1 1/2) to one for Player Blackjack

    (6) Consolidating tables with less than 3 players

    (7) Cutting Play by Re-Shuffling when any Player more than Doubles his bet

The above assure the Casino of a Positive Blackjack Advantage, regardless of any players ability...

I've never seen a table where they payed 2 to 1 on blackjack. 11/2 is the best I've seen. The change that got ME out of blackjack, was doing away with dealer hole card peeking. Reading dealers, was far more effective, than any count strategy you could employ. Shame, that one move, took all of the fun out of the game. Not every dealer could be read, but some were as easy to read, as TDVegas. "Those were the days, my friend" :) :(.

    von duck,

Corrected 1 1/2 to one best payout @blackjack, shows how long since I have played Blackjack.

As to Dealer Hole Card Peaking, I have only seen that when an Ace is up, which only occurs 1 in 13 times, & with that any 10 Card results in a Dealer Blackjack, so I don't see a big % gain there?

Dealer had to peek on any ace or ten-value up-card. That's a little more than 38% of the time. The women were easier to read than the guys, but I never would play against any dealer, that had the appearance, that they might be proficient with a set of chop sticks.:D .

I do not recall Dealers Peaking on ten cards up, you must have been playing Blackjack as a teenager.

And yes, I have run into Two Dealer Mechanics over my Blackjack Playing years, & I bet they were good with chop sticks also!

I was about 25 when I first went to Vegas, and soon after became interested in blackjack, it was much better back then. If the dealer had the ace up, they would offer insurance, then peek.. With a ten up they still had to peek, if they had ace down, there was no use to hit your hand.

    von duck,

I was about 30 & # (1) No longer providing "Grandfathering" at tables was beyond a doubt that which provided the best gaming.

What I would do is hit the sack about 2:00 pm, set the alarm for 10:00 pm, get dinner, then look for a table with two to three older players, who typically would retire from 11:00 to 1:00. Casino's at that time would ""Grandfather"" players in, so you could stay & play till you left, but they would not allow new players to enter the game, as they were cutting down on tables at that time.

This left you playing One on One with the dealer & with a Single Deck & a Two Level Count, you could make $$$ 9 of 10 times you got that One on One play, for an hour or so. At that time I'd take several hundred bucks, (you'd need One K today) then retire & repeat the next day.

The best BJ run I ever had, was an 8 day stretch in 1985 where I won $31;500. This was the best gambling run, of any kind, that I ever had. During that same period, I also hit the biggest horse bet I ever had, a $2,376 cash, on a $380 bet, on a race at Belmont Park, at the Ceasers sports book. Those were the days my friend, I thought they would never end.
