Grudges die hard, and old grudges, well, they just don't die.

I understand, I harbor a few grudges. If you asked me the specifics about them, I probably wouldn't have the details. But they are nice hard grudges so they live on.

But, seeing some of the vitriol on this and other boards seems so harsh. Again I don't have a dog in the fight, so I guess I can't understand.

To paraphrase what between the lines is saying above, Let's keep trying to inject new ideas and new energy into the forum, and move on into the big, brave Craps future.

Through all of the Criticism, Frank has remained Non-confrontational & a True Gentleman. That's NOT to say that I agree with everything that he writes. It's hard to believe that Frank is from Brooklyn. Most brooklynites will chew you up & spit you out in a Heart beat. Might there be a "Relaxed" Side of Brooklyn that Maybe Frank Resided In? LOL.

BL, vitriol simply comes with the territory on a public forum such as this one...for me personally this is easily dealt with: primarily--but not always--by simply ignoring it...indeed it is the heavily censored boards, ones that even ban participants, ferchrissakes, that i want nothing to do with: what poor, pathetic, thin-skinned, close-minded souls...but then i suppose some of these are commercial ventures with agendas and i guess i get that, but again, very easily dealt with: simply ignore them...

Vitriol, like Greed, is a Given for human beings...and onna public interchange you will always find it...but unlike, sadly, some peoples, i like humans...

7s, disremember is "tjp speak", and used quite intentionally, in this case with awareness of the context of the particular post, which was mostly satire and perhaps downright nonsense...tjpspeak, along with vernacular spellings & actual pronunciations ("onna", "couple-a", many more) is used somewhat regularly by me here and in virtually all of my textual communications (except for [now mostly pre-retirement] business communications and sometimes even then depending upon the relationship)...alot of this goes back to the fact that i was an early email adoptor, the most notable manifestation of that is in my lack of capitalization...

i understand your correcting impulse and am actually not unappreciative of it (this particular one, for example, could conceivably be quite helpful for some) and certainly not to say that i dont make mistakes, but, just so you know, your corrections will pretty much fall upon "deaf eyes" :) tom "home runs are sometime boring" p
-g. geist: on the other hand some peoples think grammatial and spelling corrections are poor form on sites like this
--tom p: yes, some do, but ideally they will just ignore it druther'n spewing vitriol about it
---g. geist: o, my, but aren't you just so nice
----tom p: just go away, would ya?

I'm a college graduate.....but I picked up that word from Mr. Clemons at the congressional hearings, when he was talking about Mr. Petite. I liked the word and I remembered it.

I'm sorry about the correcting thing.........but there is so much.

This is the reason I posted my adios message to Frank.

I figured he really couldn't quit cold turkey and that is why I posted "don't let the door hit you in the ars".

But it is nothing personal what-so-ever. I actually wish Frank better luck at self control when he thinks it is time to bail out of a bad craps game.

"Shit or get off the pot, Frank!"

It is most unfortunate that posters who wonder about the vitriol have no idea of what has happened in the last decade. Now when we have a mostly uncensored board we can speak our minds and get this cancer the tribute he surely deserves, including that foot up the ...

When you speak of heavily censored boards, none match that of the gtc board, including the sock puppets sent forth to entertain. Once in a while there would be an escapee, who would migrate to another board and spill his guts. Once in a casino, I met one who had me forward a greeting to Heavy, scared shitless to post elsewhere because of his fear of upsetting Scoblete.

No, I'm in a position to say some of what I know, and throw stones. As I have said elsewhere, it's all about the money. There is your bottom line.

So, brass tacks...Frank and his crew were heavy handed on their forum and banned people at will who questioned their methods, strategies, etc.?

Is that where the criticism stems?

I don't know but I know even advantage players go threw winning & losing periods. I have often asked and never gotten an answer from those who run schools, teach or sell into the craps player community. The question is: If you make more money playing craps or selling weekend DI courses, dice grippers, books, & other related items...

They make more money selling theirclasses, just do the math on what they are selling, then read their trip reports, where they didn't do anything in the casinos with their students when they were paid an "After Glow Fee" so their students could shoot with their hero's! Way to funny if you ask me! The only time you read that they had big winning sessions is when there is nobody else around! All of that fiction that the Madprofessor writes on their board must be rubbing off on them!

Funny that they have these big rolls when there is nobody around, or one of their suck puppets is the only one there! If they need a fiction writerr to sell their classes, what does that tell you, you have to remember that nobody has ever seen the Madprofessor in a casino!

OK. What else? You especially like ripping on the guy. I'm not a fan because I think his stories are mainly fiction presented as fact and his head is quite large...other than that?

At the risk of being accused, and legitimately accused I might add, of hijacking this thread I will interject a personal observation about the aforementioned vitriol -- and I will be amazed if this doesn't light things up! -- it is akin to racism. Frank Scoblete, like John Patrick in The Before Time, is a successful high-profile author; his vitriolic antagonists are not. They therefore feel they must attack the man on a personal level at every opportunity to make up for their own perceived inadequacies. I'm all for legitimate criticism, and I have given Frank (by e-mail) and John (on rec.gambling.craps) my fair dosage of it, but IMHO ad hominem arguments only demonstrate that the writer really has no argument.

Fire at will, but target the comparison, not racism in general.
