I just started playing craps about a year ago.I've played in Vegas and Lake Charles. My question is there a favored casino with good tables in that location?

Depends on what kind of bets you like to make. Do you like to play pass odds, field or fire bet? Whats your minimum bet? Whats your maximum bet?

I use to refuse to play at the GoldStrike in Tunica because of their chips. Since they got new chips it has not been an issue.

If you play pass line odds then find a table that pays 10x 20x or more. If you have a small bankroll then you want a small table min bet like $5 or less. If your system uses the field then find a table that pays 3x for 12 (or 2).

I think Tunica has the best tables. 20x to 100x odds. Most of the tables pay 3x12 in the field. You can find fire bet and crapless tables too. Most casinos have 5$ min.

In Vegas, I just look for 5$ table min with a good crowd. I don't like to play on tables with inexperienced players and there are alot in Vegas. Also, if you play a lot, play at one casino. You'll get more comps (be sure to show them your players card).

Thanks idoc. Never been to Tunica, but I'll put it on my next summer trip. I like to play the pass line and the inside numbers. When we got a good shooter I'll play all the hard ways for a buck or 2. I've had pretty good luck lately playing with a small bankroll. I was at the Bellagio last year for my Birthday.I started with $50.00 I left the table with $450.00 The table was full and there was a couple of pro shooters.Three guys from Jersey were playing next to me.I followed the lead on bets. They were shooting alot of 5 n 9s. I have been practicing that set up with the dice on my pool table and it does seem to work.

    mlred,

I agree with idoc, definately find a table with experienced players with good table etiquette. My opinion is that Ceasars in vegas has the best dealers and is the best atmosphere for playing. I would also agree that the ideal table would be a table with a low limit and high table max. You never know when a roll will get hot. You can always make 10 dollar place bets on a 5 dollar table, but not vice versa. If you make pass line wagers, 3x, 4x, and 5x, odds lends you no leverage to really press your odds at all. I've seen up to 500x odds on tables. The higher the odds the better. Another small thing to look for while picking a casinos to play at, is whether or not you pay the vig up front on a buy bet or if you pay the vig when the bet is won. Not risking the vig up front adds up after you have pressed your four and ten a few times. It definately makes a difference. A hundred dollar 4 is a five dollar vig up front. Every dollar counts. The only casino i know of with crapless craps is stratosphere.

I can also recommend the Caesar's for crap playing. I love playing there and I understand that the place is not the ideal location for every kind of player. A lot of high rollers hanging out there, so you have to adjust to that. It's always good if you tip the dealer on your table or know some Vegas news to have some small talk with the other players. You can have some good fun that way, every casino has its own feeling and atmosphere, some like a certain place, some do not.
