This is the thing that makes us realize we are all mortal. Going to miss BTL's presence here.

TY 777. Appreciate it. Anyone who wants Tom's address should PM us for it. It was nice of Tom's son to contact some of us, knowing how his dad felt about our favorite game of chance.

I spoke with his son Zack this morning. Apparently he had a heart attack initially in December which put him in the hospital. He was recovering but then suffered a stroke.

I told his son Tom was a respected member of our little site here and if he wanted to read some of his fathers postings...as suggested by $nakeEye$, I sent him the link and Toms ID. He was appreciative and said he will look at the site and his fathers contributions.

I expressed my sympathy for losing his Dad.

Tom did have a Facebook page..but wasn’t very active. Nonetheless there are a few photos of him on there.

I got a voice mail a bit ago from Tom's son Zack
He said that Tom had passed away , I was sorry to hear this
Tom was in my opinion among other things a poet
I know he will be missed by many on this board

Yep, just received his Address from 777, & Koko. On my way to pick up a Sympathy Card! Tom will surely be missed. TDVegas, & others that had the pleasure of meeting Tom were very fortunate. Wish I would have been one of those fortunate few.

Just came in, and there was this message from a Zack who said his father had just passed away, and left 2 phone numbers if I needed any further information. After replaying the messages several times, the name Tom became clear, and the phone number left seemed familiar. Checked the Board to see when was the last time BTL posted anything, December 8th. Never a good sign when someone who posted a lot, then with no explanation goes silent for long periods of time.

Tom loved baseball, and last year just about this time Tom was getting ready to make his MLB preseason practice run, FL and AZ, and as I had taken him up on his bohunk challenge, we were confirming dates, going over the rules, specifications of the challenge, and we were to meet in Cherokee. Although I couldn’t get him to commit on the 4 and 10, we settled on the 5 & 9. The first set off dates didn’t fit his schedule, the second dates were called because of bad weather, and the third meeting was cancelled because I got sick. However we left the challenge open till next March 2018, since neither one of us were planning to go anywhere...

In Tom’s first PM to me, he related he was of Irish heritage, as you can tell by my last name...just don’t call me a Mic, or I’ll beat the shit out of you. LOL. OK Tom, see you in Murphy.

Tom was very knowledgeable, funny, long winded, and at times would write so much even he considered some of his stuff BS.

My heart felt condolences to family and friends. Please know his presence will be missed.

If you do, your expectation of a payoff should be better than the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl this season. Tom was a big baseball fan and we had several discussions about the national past time since I joined this forum in 2015. I recall he was adamant Jack Morris deserved to be enshrined in Cooperstown, while I thought otherwise. On December 10, 2017, the Modern Baseball Era Committee elected Morris (and Alan Trammell) to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Tom also rooted for St. Thomas (Minnesota). He was a big fan of the annual St. Thomas - St. John's rivalry football game. I think he was able to attend the 2017 game that was played at Target Field.

Next time I'm in a casino, I'll make a hardways bet and donate the proceeds to St. Thomas in memory of the tough craps player.

As a relative newbie here, I just want to say that BTL was one of a select few for whom I had respect for. Not only in the game of craps, but also his personal insight to matters extending outside the back wall (so to speak).

May his family and friends be heartened by the sentiments passed on here.

Rest in peace Tom. I didn't have any personal contact or PM with him.
I can tell that those who knew him personally or through the forum that he was well respected.
We all have different opinions of each other and it's good to see that we have set them aside to share information that shows Tom's family how much he will be missed and what he contributed to this board.

I checked out the link provided -

It was the MAIN PAGE of obituaries -

Perhaps a DIRECT LINK to Tom's OBIT would be beneficial to ALL -

It would be MOST BENEFICIAL to at least ME !

I would like to have the opportunity to " sign his registry book " !

    Thanks in advance !

SCH posted the main link to allow those interested to periodically check for updates. I just checked -- the obituary for Tom P. hasn't yet been posted so it can't be directly linked at the moment.

We go back and forth every day here arguing over the same stupid shit
    It’s so insignificant

As fast as I’m concerned this board lost one of its best assets when Tom passed
