And YOU cannot simply answer the question. Any three box numbers, or for that matter, any two box numbers, would have a better chance of cashing. There, now was that so hard TD? You don't have to answer THAT question.

I could care less about cashing bets. I prefer to win money.

In one example you need to cash 3 bets to be ahead in the other example you only need to cash 1 bet to be ahead.

Using this logic if you are home pounding the keyboard instead of playing you have 0 combinations working for you out of 36.

This reminds me of the old joke about the Pollock who was buying Tomatoes for 25 cents and selling them for 5 for a dollar.

When someone pointed out he was losing money the Pollock replied " I'll make it up on volume". lol.

this math nonsense is the trouble with guys like this.....it just does not make sense.

The typical 5 times odds player places a $5 pass line bet and is a 2/1 favorite to
win on the come out roll with $5 at stake, and then a 59/41 dog with $30 at
stake. Who would think like that????

Then the math suggests a bet like the ATS is way out there....yet I hit it four
times in 4 sessions in Laughlin and 6 times in the last 7 sessions....

So for the math guys, is the ATS bet a bad bet for me?????

No one wins all the time, but a bet for one guy may not be as good or bad as it is for
    a different shooter.

You have to play the game in line with the skill you have as a shooter or your bank roll
    if your a random player.

The question is a bit loaded because it negates the downside issues and only focuses on the upside. It’s not a matter of mindset either. You can lose $16 vs. winning $5 if the come out is a 7.

The question as presented has variables that one can choose to ignore...much like people ignore the come out roll when declaring “you have to roll the point number twice to win once”.

Betting the 5-8-9 after the come out
Take the come out 7 out of the equation

You don't get to "take the come out 7 out of the equation".

    It's not a comparison.

    It's innumeracy.

    Vielen Dank

[QUOTE = "lone irish digit, post: 234699, member: 191605"] This is Mr. Max Planck,

Since I'm the biggest math personality in the world, I'd easily get Mr. Halls and Mr. Ted Vegas out of their craps Deliema. However, I currently have the most satisfying time with four casino chicks on a cruise ship in the Atlantic, so unfortunately I can not help you out of your Deliema.

Thank you very much [/ QUOTE]
TDVegas knows the answer , he doesn't want to post
With the same amount at risk in both situations you have one number
    working on the pass line
In the other case you have 3 numbers working with the
same amount of money at risk.

I would say the don't pass would have the best chance to cash a winner you have 6 ways of winning

You would be wrong, and for more than one reason. 3 box numbers can have as many as 14 ways to "cash", and "don't pass" was NOT one of the options posed, with the question. Which has a better chance of a "CASH", pass, or three box numbers? Seems like a very simple question to me, probably because it IS, a simple question.

I think many times , people make the game a
lot more difficult than it actually is or than it has to be.

I'll bet that sounded better rattling around in your

Here is where the largest disconnect occurs in this game.
Those who believe there , "IS NO SKILL" in craps don't
have a shot , they have no skill so they must rely on
    what they call ,
"LUCK": A combination of circumstantial events operating by chance
    to bring about desired results.
and they , HOPE with their fingers crossed , that
this will happen over and over again with
    no influence on their part.

And this reminds me of an incident from my personal experience. In a marketing class I took we played a simulation game in which we were running a car manufacturing and sales company. Among other things we had to set the price and schedule production for each of five models of vehicles that our company could make and sell. I opted to produce economy cars, competing on price. On the first round my cars sold like hot cakes...and I lost my shirt. While I had set my prices above my regular manufacturing costs the simulation gave me way to limit sales and my price was below what it cost me to make the car on overtime.
