Sure looks like him, but his form isn't too good. Kinda like Lee Trevino.
His form was excellent; kinda like Wille Hoppe.
Ya, I see the resemblance.
The Suckers? The entire room! No BONAFIDE pool hustler would be caught DEAD in a Suit, UNLESS they were playing in a World Straight Pool tournament.......Which STILL was very rare for a hustler to play in ANY tournaments!
The gentleman depicted is Ralph Greenleaf......Mosconi's mentor!
Oops, so much for google....
table top says he likes this , I can just see the dollar signs spinning across his eyes
he would walk into that room and say
"SO THIS IS WHAT HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE , THANK YOU LORD"
the guy shooting looks like a very old Bill Gates
LID I recognize
Ralph Greenleaf was another holy terror amongst the Murderers Row of talent that played the game of Straight Pool!
Greenleaf NEVER practiced ( after he Mastered Pool), & often played (ILL advised) while under the Spell of Alcohol!
When I was on the road, the "Tonic" of choice was "Speed"! Nothing like having that extra "boost" when playing "eight Ahead" Gambling Sets!
When two evenly matched players "Got it on", it might take 2 days or so, before someone got the !!!
Funny thing is that IN MOST CASES the winner would eventually "Catch a Gear", & win the cash AFTER being up & playing for a day or so!
NOW, FIGURE THAT ONE OUT.......You can't catch a gear playing "Fresh" when starting the session, but you shoot "Lights out" after being up 24 hours, tired, stoned out of your mind, stinking like bat shit, with bad breath! Lol
Have you played on these tables in Vegas?
Thirty five years ago I played At Cue phoria in Vegas! It was owned by a top woman player named Mary Keniston!
Lots of Action in that room! A guy named Toby Flaherty was "Top Dog" in Vegas during that period
