That damn Treasure bay hassled me from table end because they said i needed to
set and throw quicker, which i was doing, then next morning the shot and set were ok
but they wanted my shot higher off the table top, then just to see what would happen
i went to SL1 and threw the GTC shot and one die missed the back wall and they
pissed and moaned about that.... it started when i hit the bonus bet and came right
    back on it...

The morning crew wont see me again.

Gordon, as you know winning can draw heat. If one of the suits thinks you might be exhibiting influence with your GTC toss you sometimes get hassled unless the crew likes your jokes and you tip well. After watching your inline toss a few times I can see why you might get heat when winning because they can always claim it looks too much like a slide toss. The easiest way to avoid heat is to lose.

Billy; There is no doubt that if you show evidence of knowing what you are trying to do, they will sweat the money. Gl*** is a real space case, OCD to the max, avoid him when he’s on stick.
Been a few years but it was worse afternoons. Had an old codger, Mike K, ruled with an iron fist, worked with Bill Harrah, in Reno, way back when, you better not miss that back wall!

Dont see many table games that are 2 minimum either. Though i played a 5 dollar table. If you have a plump stick just ask them hey fat fuck your gd belly is interfering with my DI toss dont you see i have a hard 6 and 8 bet for you guys for a buck.

Sometimes they will rotate dealers from one game to another cause someone may go home early and they changed stick 2 or 3 times on this guy and he was going off about it. One time the stick had to take a shit and the floor stood as the stick so she could go take her dump in the middle of my roll and the game stopped till she got back.

The only time I'm reasonable sure they were trying to ice me was the tiny boat an hour or so from home. I was on a big roll shooting from high hook and the 8:00pm shift change came around. They make 4 stick changes in 4 rolls and when that didn't work they put a dual rate who was sucking for a pit critter job as my dealer. She was bouncing around and re arranging my bets while I was shooting. Peeled off a dozen more rolls, colored up and left. Normally they never play keystone kops with the dealers there.

I'll be passing through your stomping grounds next week. Plan on checking out Southland Park. I'll cover the part of my screen that shows my buy in and bets with a paper towel so the panhandlers can't see it. I've seen people do that in Vegas.:)

I was not using the GTC shot except on the end to just prove what
would happen if i missed the back wall with one die. I was using my
Captain Spock shot. ( don't ask??)

Another thing that will help you a lot is to practice with different
color dice. I just threw a few shots with the GTC style and
    hardway set. i got 5/4, 2/1,2/1, 5/4, 2/4, 6/5 1/4,6/3 5/4,
    4/2, 3/6,3/5,2/1,6/6,6/3,5/4. 1/4,2/2, 4/2 not my normal
result with the hardway set which is 3/4 3/4 3/4 etc.

But the point is by using a red and green die with the in this case
the green was the right die.. i know where the 4 came from, where the
1 came from where the 4 came from and so on....At the casino
your going to have watch say the left die so you always know what
that number is.... that way you understand what change to make on
    which die.

Yep, & ya might as well mention that tracking left/right die in the Casinos ain't no easy task. When you're tossing the dice side by side, & inline....it's very simple to track.
However, when stacking the dice on top of each other....tracking left/right becomes more difficult.

Also, the wilder, & less contained your landings are ( dice bouncing a lot, & criss-crossing over each other), it becomes almost impossible to read left/right die in the Casinos.
The best way ( Rick gave me this suggestion a long time ago) to practice tracking left/right die at home is to NOT use two different colored dice. Instead, take a Magic Marker, & put a dot on one of the pips on one die & practice die tracking THAT way!

Practicing this way will let you know EXACTLY how observant you are with die tracking BEFORE you try it in the Casinos.
The simpler your toss, & the less hopping, popping & bouncing around of your landings.....the easier the tracking becomes!

I must say - It is quite refreshing to see that there is some semblance of knowledge being disseminated on this board aside from the normal BS which is espoused by the likes of the NAY - SAYERS !

Very good, insightful and most informative information that you shared, Gentlemen !

To add to the above - Clint so succinctly states " A Man HAS to Know His Limitations " -

THEN he says " Adapt and Overcome " -

One NEEDS to adopt BOTH of the above philosophies during the course of their play !

AND KNOW when to employ them to their benefit !

Keep up the good work and this board JUST MIGHT live up to what it's intended purpose was when founded -

" To share knowledge about the Game of Casino Craps " !

Was just looking in and saw this and thought I would put in a few words. First, if you are rolling a hardway set, your roll absolutely should end with a double pitch. Gotta keep them on axis, or at least not have both going off axis.. But, the plan is to get more than the random average of tosses before the dp happens consistently. and the more the merrier of course. One little secret that's been hit on, is to have the dice hit the table together. But the trick is that your hand is far better at it than your brain is, so just use the brain to pick the spot, don't try to micro-manage the toss. as long as your brain is on the landing spot, your hand has been trained since birth to put the dice there. just concentrate on together and just let your hand do the work. Ok ok, quit with the dirty jokes. :)
Once youre comfortably landing them together, just add using the dice like your pitching pennies at the back wall.. and you should get a bit betting control over the inevitable dp and the end of your toss.
And don't sweat the diamonds, they are your friends!

Here is some more information. I will assume that the shooter knows his pre-set.

LOOK carefully at your outcome. Because the dice are three-dimensional objects, look at more than top numbers.

Determine from observation if outcome matches pre-set.

Math, observation and reality all show that on-axis will happen approximately 2% of the time. There will be some variability from 2%, but not much.

Please note, that for the 622nd time, all I am saying is that dice do NOT stay on-axis. I am NOT saying that people do not shoot well and/or get great results when shooting. Also, it is a given that, on average, some people shoot better than others.

Whether this is due to luck or to skill is open for debate.

What's to fix? 44.4% and 2% are exactly the same thing, aren't they? :)

Never been hassled for setting the dice in laughlin.
They don't get many dice setters there. They are all setting in Vegas.
It's been my experience that they want to see how good you are. Apparently I'm not any good.
I have experienced where the stick actually leans back out of the way. Or dealers relaying to other end of table what set I'm using.
Only negative comment I've heard after a seven out. Set the dice, pay the price

I have had lots of trouble in Laughlin,,, the Trop, Aquarius and a small amount at Avi.
Now last trip this year was great...i think you were out there..... all three were great,
no problem at all.. If that keeps up it may be my favorite place to play.

Only because we get comped rooms in laughlin we don't get to Vegas much.
Although the we're talking about going to Vegas next month. Take in a show or two.
The strip to busy for us. Probably stay downtown.
If you get to Nevada next month let me know.
I like watching the live bands downtown.
I can do without the freak shows. But it's hard to avoid them.
Might need to get up early in the morning to avoid the crowded tables in Vegas.

A skilled shooter that can't get him/herself out of bed, & in the Casinos by 5-7A.M. is gonna have a difficult time finding tables with less than 4 players.
It just doesn't make sense for a SO-CALLED skilled shooter to play at a crowded table UNLESS it's gonna be a "One & done" thingy!

How ya gonna find the right Dice Set if you're getting the dice one time per 60-90 minutes?
