I have been testing out a new strategy (for me)on a practice site that I was wondering if anyone has used and what they thought of it.
I start with a bet on the come out roll of 3 to 5 units on the ''Don't Pass' line.
After the come out roll I bet 1 unit on all the place numbers except the point number.
I have seen this strategy somewhere before, I just do not remember where.
Has anyone tried this out? Did you have any luck?
    Thanks,
    John

It's a hedge play. Generally I don't like hedge plays. My experience has been the wins get degraded. Pick and side and go with it.

I'm not a fan of across the board either...but that's a personal choice. You have some protection with your DP bet.

Looks like it has possibilities, the Achilles Heel being the same as with all methods that start with a DP/DC bet to "protect" subsequent bets: natural losers (comeout 7|11). Any progressions/regressions? Any triggers for laying of odds behind, or gnashing of teeth?

Here is a slight twist to that hedge strategy. This is used if you are not the shooter. If you are the shooter then adjust accordingly. The hedge does not need to work on the come out.
If you are not the shooter wait for point to be established....$5 table.

Place the inside numbers for $22 total.
    Lay the ten for $50.
    $7 hard ten.
Only number that hurts you is soft ten 4/6.

That’s a bad strategy. The place bets increase the house edge between 200 and 250% depending upon where your DP goes.

True, soft 10 kills you, but the Devil gets you for $5, and even a hard 10 costs you a buck (two if lay vig is taken up front). All this for a 3:1 shot at $7? Think I'll pass.

John, you probably first saw a variant of this strategy on YouTube.

Here's a link for nostalgic effect:

The very same video, like the pied piper is what led me to my very first craps session. From memory, I won $200 or so and the rest is history.

Thanks mate. Yeah, all is well on this side of the world.

Haven't really played much craps for quite some time now. Been more involved in sports betting. A new lady friend takes up a great bunch of my time these days too.

I had a short hour long craps session the other day which made me remember how fun the game can be. Turned $100 in to $150 using a modified version of my old strategy. Believe it or not, I've managed to make it even MORE conservative.
