Why would anyone pay that kinda money to toss the dice and learn betting strategy? Did Dom provide free sports bet tips? You can get all that and more for free from the American Craps Academy, American Street Craps Academy, LID's book "Gambling for Innumerates," and reading this and other dumbass craps forum as well as watching free videos of Full Press and that Dangerous Arm. Even James Hall betting strategies of never losing more than $42 and making $5,000 in three tosses is free.

Everything that ya need to know can be learned by watching other so-called skilled shooters toss the dice. You don't have to pay $800- $2,000 to learn Dice influencing.

Ya need to know the fundamentals, & work it out from there. Watching that bullshit from Full Press won't get ya there! Especially his math. The guy just learned how to "Lay" bet, & didn't even know that you can reduce your pass line bet after ya hit a point!

Would you want to take instruction from someone that doesn't know the basics?

You're gonna have good days, & bad days. It is what it is! I say that it takes thousands of rolls, & many hours of practice to KNOW if ya have the Goods to influence the dice. (SRR) Sevens to roll ratio.

The only other way to know is if ya can "Snipe" number/s more than probabilities dictate. In my opinion, THAT is a true test of skill, because ya know what you're gonna toss.

Just avoiding the hand ending Seven out? Not as powerful as the "Snipe"!

So, would I pay $1,500 to someone that claimed they could teach me to influence the dice, and gain an advantage at the casino?

I answer that question the same way I would answer the alchemist that offered to teach me how to turn lead into gold.....for payment in gold of course!

Ah, but LID, WHICH of these "other" methods will be of the most help?

My money is on the "this and other dumbass craps forums".

    OAP,

You must have missed the episode of The Twilight Zone where the guy who went into the future with all the gold killed all of his time companions, only to find that man had learned how to convert lead into gold and that gold was no longer a valuable commodity, about as useful as dirt.

Maybe it's just me...but I've seen how these craps communities are very clique-ish...who supports this guy, who supports that guy, who says this guy is better, that guy is better.

Frankly I would want to see it myself and not rely on a student who says anything....positive or negative.

Let me see what ya got "Eddie The Arm"....your charging me $1,500. This isn't a $4 bottle of Ka-Boom that I'm buying. If that doesn't work...garbage. I'm a "tiny bit";) more concerned about $1,500.

I don't need a long drawn out demonstration...but I need something other than the guy sitting next to me saying "He's da man"...before I fork over $1,500.

I don't see forking over that kind of cash without a seeing is believing type deal.

Really the one that had the helped me the most was at last year's post ACA with Jigaboo Jones as the instructor that taught me the fundamentals of sniping numbers and calling out your next toss results a priori. However, if you meet up with him it might cost you something.

Good insight, KKJ! I would add that anyone knowing how to convert lead to gold, sure as hell would keep it a secret!

Reminds me of the story where a very rich man was on his death bed and pleading with St. Peter to let him bring his wealth in gold bars to heaven. Reluctantly, St. Peter says OK.
The man dies and shows up at St. Peter's with a shit load of gold bars. St. Peter looks at him and says, "You brought cobblestones?".

As usual , some very good points
Over the years of playing this , my first effort being in 1965 I have found some things to be absolutely essential,
As an example of that I have found that two things must abide together to make winning possible
First , and very important as tabletop so often points out , you must have a good , repeat , a good betting strategy
Second there must be enough numbers thrown to effectively take advantage of that well thought out betting strategy
If you can combine those two things you can win

don't ever be fooled by what many people like to tout and that is the , "old bugaboo" , "YOU CAN'T WIN WITHOUT luck"
Winning doesn't just happen as many people believe
Winning requires "PLANNING , PREPARATION and EXECUTION" , as conditions change during a session a slight adjustment in the betting strategy may be necessary
People armed with only one plan of attack may many times find themselves losing with a strategy that before had worked really well
tabletop likes to talk about getting to the cashier quick , over the years I have seen many people start out strong and wind up losing
I have heard so many people say , "I THINK I STAY ON THE TABLE TOO LONG" nearly all players do they nearly all go thru a win and lose it all back
The majority of players would do well to escape much earlier than they do
I think TT once said "get in hit em hard and skedaddle or something to that effect , GOOD ADVICE FOR US ALL

Regarding Golden Touch.......They do teach a low risk betting strategy. They do advise NOT jumping into a hand too soon ( the five Count).

They also recommend a Dice Set (Hardways Set) that allows for a Die flipping over & the shooter not getting a Seven.

I still think that the "Schools are over priced, & most of these things....you can learn for free!

I know a few GTC players including a couple instructors and played many hours at the tables with them. Sometimes they win and sometimes they don't. I also know a bunch of regular players (non-DIs) and played many hours at the tables with them. Sometimes they win and sometimes they don't.
The $1,500 for a class is just the beginning. There are advanced classes for times when you may be unhappy with the sometimes you don't win part.

Whether you choose to hand over $1500 to a dice School or a craps table banker your choice will be right and sometimes you will win and sometimes you will lose.

UNTIL ya can use certain dice sets, & Snipe numbers, youre just like the random rollers! Granted, sniping numbers is EXTREMELY hard, but until ya can snipe, you have NOT arrived.

All of this 7,8,9, 22 SRR is some straight bullshit. Nobody tosses that good, & if ya THINK you're SRR is strong, & ya ain't playing a Iron Cross type betting scheme.....ya need your head examined!

The same reason that as soon as you are low on funds or out of money...the roll you were hoping for suddenly appears. I like to play hardways...a double or triple hardway nets me a lot of money. The whole night, single hardways were appearing once in a blue moon. As soon as I was ready to leave...a guy next to me rolls back to back hard 6's. I think it's a mental thing. I noticed when I focus on the background music playing in the casino and don't think about the roll too much, I have much longer rolls. When I was a kid and played pinball, I noticed the same thing. When I concentrated on the ball too much, I would lose almost immediately. When I was thinking about something totally unrelated, I would keep the ball in action for what seemed like an eternity. Mind control seems to play into craps as much as anything else.

The tricky part is the sniping numbers. Ain't no one proven they have that kind of command over the dice where they can do it at will any time any place. Trying to sort sessions outcomes by dice sets, grips, toss style and tables is like trying to correlate session outcomes to wardrobe. It seems cowboy hats, boots, dockers, shorts with plumbers crack and cigars seem to get more rave reviews.
