    Yup... What $nakeEye$ said!!!
Then again, there were numerous times where we DID cut the mustard. LOL...
We also won more often than not, though. ;)

    I miss those days...
Hmmm... It just might be time to get back at it. :D

I think the best thing you can do is form your own club of people. In provincial casinos I think it would be fair to say that the same faces turn up every week. Every time I go to Macau and Singapore, where it's not a popular game, the same faces are on the craps table. So, you kind of feel like you know everyone already. I think you are looking at the social aspect of the game, which in my opinion is a huge part of the enjoyment. I have never met a person who would contend to be a professional craps player, because I don't believe one could ever qualify. Met professional poker players however... So, training and discussion groups? Not sure that would work out for you. Good if you can find the right people to bond with and even share buy in stakes with. Most here have suggested it's a lone wolf game. I'm in agreement with that principal. Learn and practice and know the odds by all means. Use your own cash however. Always. Everyone has their own temperament to way they would prefer to play Craps. Nice idea though. I've thought about this myself, but more to join in as a team, rather than participate as a team member (if that is a good enough differentiator).

We live reasonably close to each other. I am in upstate NY, however I am about 10 miles from Great Barrington, MA and I suspect you live closer to the Hudson River.
If you wish to private msg. me on this board with a phone number, I will call you. Cannot guarantee I will do so today, but I will call.

As long as no actual "money" is wagered or changes hands...Playing for chips, monopoly money, match-sticks is totally legal... ;)

My interest is education, training, and practice.

This has a familiar sound to it. Reminds me of that documentary of Frank S., Dom, and Sharpshooter in the early days.

This stuff is not easy, so there are going to be times when you get beat.

But having said that, most times when each of the players from our team
were there and actually were throwing in a good position and on a table
that fit their type of throw we would find a way to do ok. We had two of
our favorite tables close, one stopped allowing dice setting for a year
and then when they allowed it again they never brought back that
same table, they got a much longer one. The other in Mole Lake
Wisconsin was a very nice 10 footer which we beat way more than
60% of the time. That was closed this spring and is still closed.

When we got beat, and in fact still get beat is when 1 or 2 ( 3 man team)
are out of position and cant admit it..You would think people
would not do something so stupid, but like it or not for many people this
is a social game. In addition most dice control folks can not be honest with
themselves and admit they cant throw from anywhere at the table, or
that on this day their shot is for shit....

I have found there is a huge difference between a craps team and a
real professional craps team. the reason is simple, there are not many
craps players around that want to win more than they want to play.

Interesting, TBD, especially for someone like me who hasn't played craps with a team - though I wouldn't have listed all the wives not getting along first, lol. But that does add another variable to take into consideration.

Did you also have agreements on what types of bets were permitted and if so, did that vary based upon who was shooting? Or did you each kick in an equal amount, bet how/when you wanted and then divide the net proceeds accordingly?

Also, how did you decide who got what position at the table, if several shooters preferred the same spot on the table?

A real good team will have people that can throw from
a couple of positions and be affective from them. If they
cant all get to where they want, they can take a position
at the table and bet only which allows their partner a
clear place to land the dice.

I have seen teams kick in a certain amount of money, then
split the winnings, though I think that was more used
    in black jack teams.

A team cant have one guy that practices a couple of shots
and learns to adjust at the table, and then have another player
or two that will just say " hey can throw from anywhere) when
they cant. When a team is playing and one guy or even two
have a shot that is not affective on that table... it is far worse
    than playing alone.

If, as Heavy says, there are only 200-300 real DI's in the country, you have your answer.

I think 50 would be a stretch. I only know of
less than 10 I would bet on in terms of betting
more than I would on a completely random
    shooter.

Have to agree with you on those DI get togethers.MP talked of 2 asian DI teams that were very organized.Guess you need the Asian discipline and sense of your role which will not deviate from .
