I'd rather kiss a rattlesnake than make a Do/Don't bet and try to look the dealer in the eye. Not saying you shouldn't, just that it's not my style of play. Here's a thought, if you don't like shooting, pass the dice...or better, shoot $5 from the Don't and once you have a point, Place the point for the same amount of your don't bet. Break even or a small winner if you make the pass. Twisted, you've got a viable betting strategy, stay disciplined and I think you will figure what you need to do when conditions are right. Wecome to the forum and best of luck!

I always do when the point is 6 or 8 if they make the point I win .16% of a unit.

I also do it because it reduces the DP volatility somewhat

On the 4-10 depending on how the session is going. I may decide to buy for.75% and lock up a .25% or 21.25% win.
I may hedge here as well with an iron cross to win .15% on any roll .25% on a 7out or a dreaded 1.75% unit loss when they hop the point

I know it may sound boring but you can grind this way. This is why I play the bubble I can do these things and nobody rolls their eyes or pays attention it's just me and my screen.
trying to grind out a few bucks to play some VP

Rudeboy.......regarding the preference to kissing a snake vs. facing the dealer over a doey-don't......... Try playing craps in Laughlin, NV, mid-week, these days....... More often than not, I'm the only one at the table, and its that way for hours......... The dealers are very happy to see a player, irrespective of how he plays. Playing the doey-don't when I am the only player, lets me make my primary bet-- 22 inside, without having to make only a PL or DP bet first. The dealers understand this, since I am the only player. To each his own......works for me.

Yes Speedracer, you're situation is the exception I'm sure you'll agree. And personally, I don't mind dealing to doey/don'tees...I just ain't gonna do it.

Can you provide an example using $$$ and not %%%

The one problem I have with the Bubble is the 15/20 second timer it allows you to place your bets, multiple bets require more time, and one has to become accustomed to which buttons to hit before being told no more bets.

If the PSO's are coming, particularly for your shot, I do the following, in order:

    1) Pass the dice my next roll - switch it up, give yourself a time out and see if the table changes
    2) If your typical play is a PL w/odds, and 6 & 8, change it up to this: don't pass line, and 2 come bets. This will give you 3 shots (or more possibly), after the point is established of 'loss mitigation, from the DP and or the sneaky don'ts (aka come bets). If for some reason you get hot, then you can place the point to more or less cancel you DP bet, and place your come bets after you hit them.

    Good luck!+

I'm not sure I read that right, why make a put bet on the point to cancel your DP? Why not just just pick it up ?

After a "short" winning session last week a dealer who I've known for years and knows my style of play said to me as I was coloring up "just another day at the office". Yes it was!

I just want to get up a few bucks, and beat feet. The dealers know and respect that kind of play. I tip well too, which also makes for a pleasant experience at the table.

    Sorry, bad usage of terms.

Here is my intent. Pretend I have a 10 dollar don't pass, and now I'm no longer confident in it. I'd place the point in front of me for 10, (paying 12). Put bet was wrong term. I meant place the point.
