An embarrassing question since I am math challenged:

    1st Example:

    $15 CO bet as follows:

    Any 7: $6
    Y0/11: 3
    Any Craps: 6

    Are these payouts correct?

    If 7 rolls: $24 - 9 = $15
    If 11 rolls: $45 - 12 = $33
    If Craps rolls: $42 - 9 - $33

2nd Example; and I am having difficulty understanding the payout:

    $15 CO bet as follows:

    Horn bet: (2-3-11-12) $12
    Hop the 7's bet: 3

    If 2 or 12 rolls: ?
    If 3 or 11 rolls: ?
    If 7 rolls: $45 - 12 = $33 ?

Thank you for your time and attention.

Where your question marks are.........Here is a way that makes figuring horn bet payouts easy.

Think of each increment of 4 dollars as 1 unit on the horn. In your example, you have 12 dollars bet on the horn, which means you have 3 units.

if 2 or 12 hits, multiply the number of units times 27........in your case, 3 times 27 = 81.

If 3 or 11 hits, multipy the number of units times 12.......in your case, 3 times 12 = 36.

Assuming all of your bets stay up after the roll:

When you hop the 7 for $3, it's basically 3 bets -- $1 on each of the 3 combinations for a 7 (6,1 / 5,2 / 4,3) unless you indicate a different allocation. So if you make that bet and a 7 hits on the next roll, you will win 1 of those bets but lose the other 2.

if a 7 is rolled, then 15*$1 (winning 7 combination) minus $12 (replace losing Horn bets) minus $2 (replace losing 7 combinations) = $1 back to you and the $12 Horn & $3 7s Hopping bets stay up.

    So what's the better bet....a 3 dollar hop bet.......or a 3 dollar any 7 bet.

    Win and down.

You're the author who has put together an excellent craps manual. Shouldn't you be explaining this (gratis)? :D

    $1 x 15 minus $2 (from 2 losing 7s hopping bets) = $13 net winnings, plus $1 (winning 7s hopping bet taken down) = $14 chips in hand

    $3 x 4 minus $0 (loss on Any 7 bet) = $12 net winnings, plus $3 (winning Any 7 bet taken down) = $15 chips in hand

Lol, give me some credit, 777. I'm actually pretty good at math.

But I like the way you framed the question as a learning opportunity. Well done. You have writing skills...which offset your lousy taste in sports teams. Hopefully Judge will hit another slump in time for the ALDS. Right now, he's destroying opposing pitching and absolutely crushing the ball.

    TILT!

In the three-way scenario you are counting the losing bets twice by figuring net win. Chips in hand after win and down are
    • $16 for the three-way ($15 for the winner plus the initial $1 wager).
    • $15 for the Any 7 ($12 winnings plus the initial $3 wager).

I have to admit you've come up with some terminology foreign to me. I'm guessing "2-2" is a typo and you meant 2-12. "Chuck & Ernie" would then refer to ace-deuce-eleven. If those assumptions are correct I get that you end up with the same amount in hand either way after six perfectly distributed decisions. Good try, though.

Ah, but the chances for a non-monetary benefit might be improved.
