Could not let this one go by.On another board the value of charting came up.I believe in it in betting on random players.Seattle Rick on JP' s board for years had a thread detailing his play where he would wait for a PLine win to occur before betting.

So I was a little surprised when he was ridiculed by that major SRT over there posing as it's moderator.
When you cannot dispute ones findings just call in question its veracity.Same tactic he tried to use on me lol
However he suggested charting can be used to track DI ers or for stalling purposes at the table.Get out your note pad! What drivel. Can you imagine board members sucking up to him. Hey Bankerdude you been on that board for years and still calling yourself a novice.Get your game in order or find another " hobby"This goes for their Alumni who cannot seem to keep their shot in order.

Maybe if this SRT used some charting that " Darksiders Ball " may have avoided getting destroyed 6 ways to Sunday and you would not have to hide afterwards.Hey Irish ever figure which Alumni dimed you out?

Not to take sides but I'm throwing in with those that chart.

There's information to be gained and we recognize that knowledge is power. Sure that can easily segue into gamblers fallacy.

    But ...it is gambling.

If you claim to be a DI and you aren't at the very least charting your practice rolls to verify that an advantage exists, you are a TRT wannabe in my opinion.

Hey guys I love charting.Donot confuse me with that SRT who was no where to be found when the roof caved in on the infamous " Darksiders Ball.Mssth1 you post over there . Are you not tired of their lack of independents thought on that board ? 1500 members with only 30 or so posting.Give me a f..kin break.

Well I read that thread, SR is a space case. But Dave how do you know all this? Have you penetrated Heavy's board with another handle?

do di's carry some small hand held device that they can punch in the results each roll, like 4-4, 4-2, or do they chart on paper most of the times?
Ive only seen a handful of people writing down results and usually they aren't di shooters.
at the Hollywood in Grantville pa, each of the nights I played there, there was one guy sitting on a stool recording every roll from every player.

some di shooter should chart every roll, everyone, position, time of day, table number and try to sell it to casino management .

Anybody can look at the Betting Strategy section on Heavy
' s board.BTW one of the St contingent is doing well in Vegas. Playing at the Cromwell and has had a few mega hands. Found some neutral hard felt tables.

    Liman,

I do believe that the COLD got to YOU like it did to numerous animals in FL -

WHY would Casino Management even consider a hair-brained idea such as that ?

THEY already WON - BEFORE - YOU bought in !

THEY have a " Built-In Edge " over EVERY Game they offer -

Simply because YOU are SHORT-CHANGED on a WIN -

BUT - PAY FULL PRICE on a LOSS !

I chart EACH shooter via chips in my rail -

I am looking for REPEATING NUMBERS from THIS shooter during THIS HAND !

What happened last lap around the table COULD be SIMILAR - OR - TOTALLY DIFFERENT -

From WHAT is happening NOW !

I have shot with some people - professed PROS - who become SO engrossed with their tracking of rolls that they FORGET to MAKE BETS -

The " Pro " who resides in FL and has a condo in LV is THE PRIME EXAMPLE of whom I speak !

Ok....let me clear the air. I am NOT giving an opinion on the "Strategy". Nor did Gargoil! I just heard that the charting was interfering with Howard's ability to focus effectively while tossing the dice.

HIS biggest problem is simply the following :

Once HE began deviating from the " Tried and True Method " which was Jerry Patterson's PARR method -

HE started to become HIS own " worst nightmare " -

TRYING a LITTLE BIT of THIS - then - A LITTLE BIT of THAT -

Trying to BEAT EACH and EVERY TABLE due to its' particular nuances -

HE wound up " BEATING HIMSELF " -

Instead of staying with ONE shot/grip/set style - HE - needed to experiment -

    BUT - THE BIGGEST problem(s) encountered was when HE - " changed horses mid-stream " - because - HE felt the " 7 was a'comin' " !

And Guess WHAT happened immediately - IF NOT SOONER -

    The 7 came !

For someone who is supposed to be extremely proficient at DI / DC -

WHY does HE find it necessary to CONSTANTLY ask players to move their bets from his intended landing zone -

    THAT is TOTALLY ABSURD !

    MY OPINION !

When you write down results, you know EXACTLY what the table is giving you!

Every time I play with Howard, he does not chart while he shoots. To say charting interferes with his shooting is incorrect. I encourage Howard to chart while he is shooting, it is the one time you have more control over the pace of the game. You can not chart some time and not others, it will definitely leave you with some inaccurate or missing indicators. I also encourage our members to take a bathroom break prior to starting a session. Our sessions are usually 1 1/2 to 2 hours and I can can surely wait till the session is over. If you have self service beverage center, we also grab our beverage prior to the start of the session.
