When you come right down to it, everything is about GAMBLING. NOTHING happens, in business, or anywhere else, until Somebody RISKS, something. I don't discuss gambling stuff with none gamblers, they wouldn't, understand. I'm not even sure I understand it. Just one final thought on the subject. If everyone gambled "RESPONSIBLY", and I mean TOTALLY, how much would casino revenues fall? Quite a bit, I would imagine.

I suspect you are right....they always promote it, "Gamble Responsibly".

But I imagine they full well know that the only ones that follow that advice, are the ones already doing it. :)

I think if they really meant it, they would enforce a 3 drink maximum.:)

    Yes and no, IMO.

Gambling can be enjoyable, fun and an overall positive experience. It really depends on the person, how they play and what the expectations are.

Then you have people with delusions of grandeur who think they can beat negative expectation games....and play and bet as if they can. They will eventually run into problems, IMO. Even the last name Vanderbilt won't help them.

Confidence is one thing. Delusional thoughts are another. I think the majority here have a fairly healthy attitude about gaming and craps. A few do not....

The common denominator is we all want to win when we play.

two times today i was about to make a post and thought, well, maybe i should read further...

    ...sure glad i did.

first thing this morning i see harley's post...generally i am quite uninterested in his personal nonsense and attacks, the latest, personal, individual pissing matches, who is a sock puppet, who stole what, the latest DI feuds & other stupid stuff, some of which even goes back bleeping decades and i usually just skim over or ignore that kinda stuff...

...but then did happen to catch where he said something about where he had been banned and i thought, bullshit, you are banning yourself (and see you in a couple weeks...lol)...you haven't been banned.

that was the first post i "almost" made.

very much to my surprise (and initial dismay) jacob soon comes on to confirm that, yes, he has indeed been banned! and "permanently"...this was followed by some posts by members expressing general agreement to this action.

"i disagree", was my first thought.

are we not all big boys here? can we not make up our own minds when we see stupidity here? or hatefullness? or bullshit? or delusions? or lies? or whatever it is we dislike? or like for that matter...

do we really need protection from stupidity or hatefulness or delusional thinking or lies or anything expressed on a goddamn CRAPS forum?? are we so caught up in our own zeit, our psyches so tender, that we need to have someone hold our hand and protect us? is not the gummint plenty enough nanny in other areas? do we really need it here too?

something like that was the second post i "almost" made to express disagreement with the banishment.

and for the second time today i would have been wrong!! (omg! almost used up an entire year's quota in one day! [lol])

despite that thinking there are lines that can be crossed...jacob is hard at work nearly every morning dumping spam from here...most greatly appreciate it or, in fact, jacob does such a good job of it that most are not even aware of it...just as those robots do, one could make post after post filled with vile obscenitties after vile obscenities or explicit racial and other hate speech and removing and censoring such would bother few if any...it would not bother me.

and in that vein i would have been wrong about harley being banned as well...his banishment was indeed the right thing to do...my first thought was wrong.

liman's post did remind me that harley had crossed the line
what harley said about rick and his daughter was so over-the-top, vile and contemptible that nothing else i have ever seen on a public forum approaches it and we have all seen some pretty bad shit...

i mean, let's face it, racism and other thankfully rare hate speech while disgusting and repellent is in a certain very sad way, almost expected on an open board---but depravity and perversion not so much...harley had indeed crossed the line..

more of us should have called him out on it too...not a good excuse but i simply do not reply to peoples like harley much...they are largely beyond hope of getting through to..

...might as well be talking to my walls...which, come to think of it, i do quite often.

Yes, it is TOO BAD about Harley -

Apparently SOME here will actually miss him -

I am NOT among that group !

I have been in construction since 1988 -

    $450 for a LADDER ?

    HARDLY , Harley !

Also, it is quite ironic that Harley suffered a head injury quite a few years ago -

And NOW HE is attributing a similar injury to Rick !

Ciao, Harley , Adios and Aloha !

Vaya y viva con Diablo !

Well, I was contemplating giving Superrick a call, but what the fu**k could I possibly say? I mean.......Who wants to bring this bullshit to his attention?

Better to just respect his privacy, & let HIM sort things out! The word "Speechless" is a understatement!

A more appropriate word would be "Shocked"!

My last reply to this thread, & gonna HOPE that it fizzles out.

What Harley said was vile and reprehensible. His banning is appropriate. I hope he searches his soul and understands what he stated here can not be accepted ever, anywhere.

I fully understand that he has to go on with his life, and I presume will have future encounters with those he has wronged here, in other forums, and in the REAL world. He appears to have a lot of demons, I can only hope he begins overcoming them.

I am a distant observer of what is presented in this forum. I only know snippets of the history presented here and sometimes at other sites. This only gives a 2 dimensional view of a person. Making a comment is difficult because it can so easily be misconstrued. This is my last comment on this matter.

I hope Rick is ok. I hope he comes out the other side in good condition after working through this episode in what ever manner he decides.

everyone here knows Harley will never leave this board, just like the rest of the hey, Im never coming back to this place again posters.
its only a matter of time, although Im sure he will secure another IP address if he hasn't already done so, and start the insults again under a new handle.
he can go to any place where a computer is available other than his own computer.

I have learned to hold my posts until Barney makes a comment.
Possessing formidable animal instincts, his clarity & incite are more than spot on.
...either that, or it's the chicken soup.
Come to think of it, didn't he write a book?

    This is Barney,

Thank you TCK for your most gracious comments, I think. However, I know nothing about the circumstances involving these two gentlemen other than it appears that one gentleman got the other man's goat. My only concern does this also mean Eagleeye 2 is also banned? If so, the forum will lose one of its best pasters by far.

    Thank you very much
