I will take your word for it, and did not bother to do the calculations only because it is a bet I would personally not make.

Most players like to get out on the cloth. For many, the more bets the merrier.

I will play an occasional (more like rare) $5 hard six & hard eight. When they lose, maybe one more of each. If they hit, the winner is always pressed heavily. Even another time if lucky enough to see a second winner.

When ahead and making larger bets, I'll almost always toss $6 or maybe $15 out on the reds at come out.

Since my regular play typically involves one bet with odds, maybe two when feeling a little more frisky, this is about the only "extra" excitement I get when at the table.

I see no reason to greatly alter my method play. Exciting it usually is not, but I never get crushed and on occasion am on the table for a very nice winner.

I go to the Dark Side my self... Don't Pass and Don't Come with the random Lay Bet.
I too keep it simple 1 to 3 points at a time and 0 to 2X odds depending on what I want.

When I want to add anything it is usually Field + 6/8 but I don't add the 5....

These bets have done me well .....
I avoid all center table action, hop bets, and any other novelty bets.....

Only added my 2 cents to the replies because I think players should understand certain concepts about when a strategy gets to costly, does no good, or reaches max potential within the strategy. All strategies are only as good as the dice falls, but fully understanding how far you can take it or how far you should take it are essential to it not being financially devastating.

Didn't seem to be any kind of strategy involved, but the guy next to me on Saturday hit the hard eight four times in one roll, although he also hit several easy eights which of course took the HW bets off the table.

He made a nice buck that session, unlike me, but he wasn't too keen on increasing his bet size. Saw him hit for $5, then $10, $10 again, then $5, I guess this was after losing a few along the way with the easy eights. I wasn't even smart enough to place the eight until near the end of his roll, but hit it once for $21, then lost my $18.

His success was more the result of placing a few at a time, something I wasn't doing.

Thanks for the link to one of my old posts from the 90s. Frank Scoblete just gave me the link for this message board. I haven't hit a triple parlay in a couple years now and am down to only starting with $1 most of the time. I use to post some alternatives to the way I bet the hardways. Like for example after winning the first parlay to keep on doubling it on any more hits. Like start with 1 and parlay the 10 if it hit. If you don't want to parlay the 100 at least double the bet to $20. If it hits again doulbe the bet to $40. Another variation was be to half of what you have after the 1st parlay hits. Parlay 1 to 10. Then go to 50 if it hits again. Then to 100 if it hits again and so on. Another variation was to go from 1 to 10. Then to 100 if it hits. Then after this either double it on any more hits. Like to 200 then to 400 etc. Or bet half of it on any more hits. Like go to 500. The to 2500 etc. The highest I hit was once at the Empress in Joliet I went from 6 to 60 to 600 to 6000. I had to take 5400 down because it was a 2000 max and the total payout can only be 3 times the table max or 6000. Twice I hit like that for 5400 wins and once it hit again so I collected 5400 twice. Not bad for a $5 bettor.

    Eddie,

Without doubt, the bravest and most profitable way to do it is your all or none technique.

I am definitely going to try it, but don't expect to hit it [4][4]:(

to: kokomojoe4. the name of the book is: Powerful Profits by victor H. Royer. i tried this again in new orleans last week at harah's and lost 400. i was up a little but was ahead for a while.. you must not and i mean must not keep playing if the table gets empty or down to 2 o 3 players. tha was my downfall. this method is very exciting but it will work more than not. {my opinion} i think the idea is to keep playing you winnings until you get enough money on each hardway to make some money if a few hit often. also stay sober ;} too hard to keep track of bets as the dealers take them down fast. but at every table i have played this method, the dealers, after a while are rooting for hardways. let me know if you try it.

    Hi easymoney,

I'm on hardways about as often as there is a February 29. Ok maybe a little more often that that, but not much.

I've progressed $5-->$25--->$111 and off with $999 on the six or eight at least 4 or 5 times. Very exciting when it happens for you.

Unfortunately, like most other hard way players, I lose about 9 out of every 10 tries at it.

yes, hardways are a tough way to go. and here in colorado, the max bet limit is 100. so to play the hardways i only use the $1 press method and start at $5. i've never gotten my bets higher than $30 before i stop. i'll stop at $100 or over win. not much but it's good for the next shoot. by the way the book is powerful profits from craps. also, i don't bet any other bets except the pass line. which i'm beganning to thin it's a mistake not betting the 6 & 8.

I think you make a valid point. He is playing the game inside the game. Some of us have never looked at craps as a game with several games or other options within it. HA, pass, DP, horn, field, come, dont come etc... If you start off playing one of the games such as a pass line with odds.. you may quickly get numbers which is an option. You may get a horn bet, another option, with a hard six...another option. If the horn and HA lose then this can deplete a bankroll quickly if the passline with odds bet does not recover it. And id that doesnt win....well let the paper chase begin..
I play the hop bets strategically and its always in my favor. I dont care if they seven out. I still win. When you play the hop bets you have two dice in your favor to hit a number. That is great. I track the numbers for awhile then martingale the hop bets. Longest streak i have ever seen was 15. But i dont start until i see at least 7-8 misses. But this is my style of play and the avid craps player enjoys the game. I enjoy walking out the casino and smiling at the security when they say have a good night.

walla!!! good for you. i tried hopping the 3-2 {martinigale} highest amount reached was 12.rolls till it hit. .scarry.
one has to be gutsy or maybe a little offbeat. 5's were being thrown left and right. maybe i should've just pressed the 5. i play every week and have been for long time. enjoy the game but watch the betting closely.

Have never seen this bet available on a table. Where do you play that a "Don't HARD WAY" is available? I often play Lay Bets but have yet to see where you can Lay against any specific combination (Hard Way) hitting. When you play it, is it a hop bet? So if any combination except Hard Way hits you win, or must you 7 win Hard Way Lose?...... This is a bet I would be on all day long.

What's the difference with the 9 to 1 vs 9 for 1? Here in the south east I've only seen 9 to 1

Oh so the House found another way to nickel and dime us! I wonder what else they will think of next! Thank you for the info and we will be on the lookout for that in are travels. I keep track of my bets and what I should be paid and now know so I don't have to sit there and dispute it with a dealer...

Watched a guy bet the 6 and 8 hard on the come out working tonight. He would have 50 on each and pressesd them up to like 150 at times. He hit a couple for 50 but mostly lost them. If he was shooting had 25 on the line and if the point was 6 or 8 wouldn't have odds but would bet the hell out of the 6 and 8 hard. Would make the point but still lose on the hard way falling. I bet I watched him drop 1500 or 2k. After he left the hardware were coming big time like 3 or 4 in a row at times.
