We all had a beginning at the Craps Table. You learn a little each time you play, but MORE if you watch others and their Game/System.

At first use the Dice Outcome Pyramid to understand which numbers are more likely to occur than others.

Understand HOW Odds are determined if you Win by the Dealer. Understand Pass Line odds and the Don't Pass odds as well as Place Bets and Lay Bets.

Understand that there are TWO SIDES to Craps. The Pass Line and the Don't Pass. Understand when one game has an advantage and then the other game. Also WHEN this occurs.

Why do the majority of Craps Players play the Pass Line. Understand why, first. Then consider the the same for the Don't Pass player's game.

You must understand both sides of the game before being proficient at Craps. Even if you will always prefer one aspect of Craps.

Dice Influencing is a disputed skill set most often wagered on the PASS Line. It also assumes more risk as you are risking more wagers for a longer period of time. Smart players who are winning, take money OFF the table and may even take ALL wagers that can be removed and lock them up in their Chip Rack. Sure... the game could go on, OR, the next roll is a Seven Out wiping out any serious wins.

Why not Dice Setting for the Don't Pass?

Once your Bankroll is gone. You are finished. If you are fishing, why put all of your bait on the hook at one time? Craps is a mathematical game. You win 35% of your Bankroll, whatever than number may be, is 35%. When you figure how long your Bankroll needs to be invested at 2% annual interest... only then will you get the message.

Make Believe is Dice Setting, Biased Dice and other similar options. Do they work? Well... if you want to pay to play... this is a fantastic option. Much like wanting to be a professional Poker Player with lessons, while you have a hard time recalling the last telephone number you had years ago.

Once you realize that there is nothing EASY about winning, it is soon you will understand the LOSING part without difficulty. One game does not make you an expert. Fifty years is not much better.

Do not believe everything posted on any forum. Do not believe me. Eventually you will realize Craps beats skilled players as well as novices. The game does not pick and chose whom... but everyone catches a long roll... in their sleep. Not as likely at an actual table.

    Summation:

1- Learn the Basics inside and out
    2- Understand Odds
3- Understand to focus on fewer numbers with more wager
4- When you seem to get the hang of it... then look into Dice Influencing, not before
5- I have been at this for longer than the age of some on this Forum and Dice Influencing is still not on my Bucket List Things to Do.

Dealing Craps was a peak in my interest. Take, Pay and Place... With six or seven different Players and Systems, a dealer has to be clear headed, fast and be consistent.

I can no longer find myself on the Dealer's Side of the Craps Table today. Over time your brain cells 'clog up' and slow your automatic reflexes. Partly from lack of practice and the other from a lack of... interest.

That is why Dealer's Rotate at a table. Each end of the table has a different mix of Players and Action to account for. The Stickman is the Break Room on intensive games, although the center table can get piled high during a hot streak for the Players wanting to risk more on high House Advantage wagers with BIG Payouts!

I never lost one cent dealing.

Playing... that was much like predicting the weather in Las Vegas during Monsoon Season... how many inches of precipitation today? Should I roll the car windows up just in case... or Play the Odds.

As a Dealer, when they are reaching over for another 20 chip stack of chips... you know that the chips are going out. When dealers are pushing 20 chip stacks into the table's Bank... the 'tide is coming back into the table's bank". It is all give and take and one side wants it only their way.

The compromise. Winners leave while ahead. Losers... leave when they are broke.

    Exactly TDB.

I do not care if I break even or make a lot... there is satisfaction beating the odds, which are against you immediately.

Hit and Run Players, when ahead, are among the Craps Warrior Class. They nick the table and go on to do something a bit more productive. Whatever that may be.

The American Indian understood the hit and run tactics against a larger force in New England's 17th and 18th Centuries. The Bankroll of the Player is nothing against the Table's Bankroll of unlimited amounts. Play for a percentage, not a dollar chip count.

When ahead, lock up your buy in and a profit. If you have too little left to play a reasonable game... quit. Local Las Vegas players can be in a Casino within 30 minutes, they are the toughest players for the House. Those in town for several days want to play as much as they can afford to lose. Or win.

If you play for time, you will most likely leave with empty pockets. Time at a Craps Table is a severe disadvantage for the Player. This is why the Casino offers the three and four day packages. Time...

If you play to win and not for time at the table, take satisfaction in the winning. Step back and watch the table with chips in your pocket. Winners are in short supply.
