Heard a gambler who bet on horses and blackjack comment on the game of craps.Liked the game but hated the people ( players) and atmosphere. He preferred a more cerebal setting. No crazy antics or stupid talk.No one trying to be the center of attention.
Well in a way he is right.Of course he is a little bit standoffish.
Yes there are a lot of undisciplined dice players who do talk stupid! But there are some talents out there but sometimes hard to find.Comes with the territory lol

Dave, this guy was obviously full of shit, and I mean a truckload of shit.

Anybody who’s spent anytime at a horse track, knows this guy is full of shit, or has his own private suite in the club house and watches the races on the monitor. He sounds like a real dandy. You should have asked him why isn’t he playing at the black chip table, with all the gents?

I'll agree with that. Never have been to horse races but seats here are pretty much bleachers unless you pay the coinage to get a "skybox"

I did go to dirt track car races a few times decades ago. The guy in the row behind me spilling beer all over me when he jumped up to watch a pass or a finish wasn't the "ambiance" I was looking for.

LMAO, so this gambler prefers playing blackjack because he's a (W) FAN of players splitting 10s and/or hitting on 14 when the dealer has a 6 showing, and getting paid 6:5 on a blackjack? Craps players as a group are arguably more superstitious than other gamblers, but I understand the thought process as to why some go through elaborate routines before selecting/shooting dice. Plus, there is far more opportunity for craps players to be more involved in game play compared with other table/electronic games. As for "stupid talk", that can happen at anywhere in the casino -- especially in the sports book.

If he wants a cerebral setting to gamble without "stupid talk", perhaps he should relegate himself to playing video poker in the high limit room -- after finding the better payout table, of course.

He says he has his own table for Blackjack reserved ( meets betting spread requirements). I listen to him everyday and he can be condesending at times.
People have always let " off steam" at the dice table. Also people dress sloppy and at times Rif Raf may arrive.

I personally enjoy the stupid talk of other gamblers, in fact I encourage it. If a guy says something stupid to me at the table, I'll find something even stupider to say back. Sometimes they will "bite" and then you really get to hear some stupid shit. Sometimes I find myself thinking, HTF did this guy even find his way to the casino. :D

I would imagine the "ankle biters" would get on his nerves at times. You know the ones who chit chat with him so they can thump their chest and name drop to their friends or on anonymous message boards.

Heard him discuss this on the radio when somebody brought up the subject. I have never seen or talked to him.
