We'll Never know the REAL story behind the "Captain". However, We DO know that Frank has Delivered everything that he has promised in Regards to his "Give A Ways". I received a copy of one Of Frank's Books(Free of Charge) as Promised. Sure, Frank is trying to make a Few Coins along the way! What's wrong with that? We all need to make a living.

My position is this: If you feel that Frank writes a bunch of Fiction, & it Offends You ...... Don't Buy it. To persecute a person for" supposedly" writing Fiction is ....... Well, just not right. This Bullshit about Frank & GTC exposing Dice Influencing & Making it hard for the Rest to Succeed(Heat) is utter Nonsense. Sure, GTC & others Brought DI'ng to the Lime Light, But REALLY...... As SOON as you Toss your first Toss as a DI, the Cat is already out of the Bag. Flying Under the Radar..... Give Me a Friggin Break! The Casinos KNOW what you are trying to Do.

I say that If you think the GTC Toss brings Heat.... Don't use it!!! If you are a True DI, then certainly you should have a Arsenal of different shots at your Ready! Look at the Bulls**t Book that the Mad Professor Released. Funny that you only hear of ONE or Two people criticizing MP's Fictitious Book, & "Fairy Tale" Casino Exploits. Certainly MP has lied continuously for MANY years about his Prowess with DI'ng.

It's truly a shame that Frank is not "Thick Skinned" enough to fight back. Maybe "Fighting back" is just not his Style. At any rate, it's ONLY a Forum with an Exchange of different Ideas on the game of craps. Nothing More!

I use to play craps in AC during the late 70's to mid 80's and I never met the Captain, but I ran into a number of different people who could have been the Captain, or Captain like. You have to give Frank his due, his books I would say are responsible for introducing craps to the masses more than any other person.

I don't really need to fight back. I just tell the truth (and yes, for some reason, some people think I am lying).

Come on now Frank you know we all love you! If we didn't we wouldn't waste our time posting back and forth with you about the Captain.

I didn't think it was you, Frank, that was deceptive. It's the seller on Amazon.
Many times when shopping on line you find a low price and then see the shipping is far more than the item price.

Often time the faults we find in others, are really what we don't much like about our own behavior or thoughts. I often have to ask myself what my motivation is for critiquing something. I would also like to make some money selling something involving gambling, so I usually don't critique the money making part of the "sellers" efforts. In fact I might even be a bit jealous that they are doing that.

But if I could sell something, I would want to know several things first. They are at the heart of all professional sales....at least in my opinion.

#1. Can the prospect afford it? #2. Does the prospect want or need it? # 3. Do the benefits outweigh the costs, will they be better off with it, will it improve something in their life?

    Number 3. is the kicker!

So what I tend to critique, is the #3. Explain to me how it works, satisfy the #3 for me. Just telling me that I'll make money, is not explaining it. I don't expect them to give the program away for nothing....unless it's worth nothing. :) But, the concepts and principles should be offered, at the very least!

Books are a bit different than the "systems", the cost of a book is usually in the range of "Not much to lose here". And the value or benefits are a little harder to compute, a good read, and just one or two little thoughts are often worth the price. But if the book makes claims that are not fulfilled, as to instructions or information, on making money, I can understand the negative response to that.

So, ya wanna sell me something, explain the concepts and principles behind your proffer, and convince me it works as advertised, and that I will be better off for having parted with my money! Do that, and you probably will have a customer!

Based on a survey of Harrah's some years ago there are about 1 to 1.5 million craps players in America; about the same in roulette and about 9 million blackjack players. There are probably 40 million slot players.

Yes, the slot players rule the casinos.

But, they could have lured people with low prices, then increase as the customer base grows. IOW, as demand increases, the price increases. Apparently, these guys have not had the demand increase they want. Caveat emptor.

I have never read a bad book that I didn't get something out of it, now with that said, what I got could have been the complete opposite of what the author was trying to convey.

One of the most fun books that I ever read was: The Craps Coach: A Guide to Having Fun Playing Craps with a $20 Bankroll
    By Reva Anderson copyright 2007

Okay you can read my review on that book at http://procraps4u2.myfanforum.org/about1123.html

    Or buy it at http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-li...d=&sr=&seller=&colid=

But getting back to the books we read on the game of craps, I think the more of them you read the better off you are if you do not take them to heart. You have to have the ability to sort out the BS and use the good stuff. I also don't think that you will find anything new in any craps book,...it's damn hard to write anything about the game that has not been written before!

The price of a book is very small compared to the price of a system or a class on becoming a DI.

Here in Las Vegas were very lucky to have a library system that has many books on gambling, so we do not have to buy them. Although I have extensive library on the game of craps and casino management I'm always interested in finding a book that I never read to see if I can get anything out of it, even if it's the worst one I ever read.

I think that everybody that plays casino games should pick up a copy of skeptic magazine every once in a while. Just to see how some things get busted that really makes no sense whatsoever. If you just have, common sense in looking at them.

You don't have to be a total skeptic to use common sense to question some of the things that are written by some of the authors on gaming. Even if you think of yourself as a so-called DI, you should be questioning what some of these posters and authors write.

My outlook on some of these writers is they do a lot of damage to the unsuspecting new players and some of the guys that are just in denial about their heroes. If you take everything that is written in some of these books as the truth you are hurting any chance of being a winner! Sure for those of you that think you are a DI, there are going to be times when you have some good winning sessions, but if you look at the overall picture and you do not know how to bet the game, you are always going to be taking two steps forward then three steps backward.

They tell me that a one of so-called DI's heroes, the Madprofessor is now taking steps backward in his writing on his trip reports. But I'm sure that he will once again come out of his slump, so once again he call be their hero!

Read all you can, but be wary of what you are reading!

that's something casino execs will examine every year I bet.
    1.5 million craps players.

    hmmmmmmm........

How bout we take out the craps tables, all those crews, all those pit bosses, and we put in bubble machines, expand them, to take full limits, up to 2000 dollar limits. How many players will we lose if we give them no choice?
    300, 400 thousand?
Lets weigh that out with what we will also save on payroll.

Its no wonder I see less and less craps tables in operation every time I go somewhere.
Weekdays, or winters down in AC, during the day, its like one table per casino the past few years operating, maybe 2 tables.
One day the casinos might decide how many players they might lose vs. the cost of running the tables.
And then ofcourse, no craps tables, how many of those gamblers will opt out from bubble craps, but go to blackjack or another table game.

yep, anyone promoting anything for craps is helping the casinos.

this board is helping the casinos.

    casinos should pay this board.

Maybe you should do a little more reading on the trends that the casinos are going to! They are now taking out machines and putting in table games!

I think this may although not completely settle this issue but may reduce some of the criticism of DI.

$3000 buy in, or something more affordable, played on a $5 or $10 table in a casino picked by the majority. Rules are simple, 2 days, 2 sessions a day, each player's session is no more than 90 minutes playing time, if the player should 7s out before their 90 minutes has expired, they will has till have the remaining time to play. Should a player exhausted all their buy-in funds they are out for that session. Each player's roll will be recorded by a nutural party pick by the total number of players, nut the player doesn't pick his recorder. After the end of the session the results are tallied and presented to be viewed by all members of this board. So we could have 3 players who identified themselves as DI, against 3 non-DI types. The players do not all have to play at the same time or the same table, but should play at the same casino. The winner is not the person who wins the most money, but the person who can produce the longest run(s). Looking only for results, the method thrown along with all the other properties associated with their toss are not recorded. As BTL requested real casino action, well this be live casino action. Last thought. For obvious reasons, neither the players or those recording the tosses can reveal dates, times or place of this event.
