A Christmas list for the craps player in your family.

If you are new to the game of craps, or you know a craps player, you may want to consider purchasing any of the below book, tutorials, DVDs, seminars. Some are very inexpensive, less than $50, others will certainly cost you more. Some will take some searching as they are most likely out of print/production, so I have marked them with a "*", others are readily available.

    BOOKS

    THE DICE DOCTOR. Sam Grafstein
JOHN PATRICK's ADVANCED CRAPS. John Patrick
Any of the 3.books by Charles C. Westcott. I was informed Charles has passed on, he was pro at craps and a genuine all around nice guy.
WHOLLY CRAPS, and GREATEST CRAPS GURU in the World. David Medansky

    TUTORIAL

CRAPS, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. By our own, basicstrategy777
DO's and DON'Ts of DICE. Michael Vernon

    DVDs

ALL IN ONE CUBE KNOWLEDGE Vol. 1 & 2. Our own Linaway
DICE RULES, AXLE OUTCOME PROBABILTY. Linaway
LEARN TO PLAY CRAPS VOL 1. Crapsmoney.com
*MY FAVORITE: DICE MAGIC. The late Walt Diem
    KOGANINJS's KICKASS DICE CONTROL. Koganinja
opps forgot. GOLDEN TOUCH, Beat Craps by Controlling the Dice. Frank Scoblete

    SEMINARS

    LITTLE JOE.

I might add one more book........"Introduction to Probabilities, and Statistics".

That book will give you a lot of insight when evaluating the other books you recommend...especially JP's books! :)

MP's book is great and free since most of it he has posted on the internet over the years. But the best craps book (I'm not biased) and one of the best 5 books in the history of western civilization is shown below:

I recommend the Grinch that stole Christmas

if one cant grasp the basic odds and basic bets of craps, one might as well read the newspaper as well, because they will never understand the game

and if they do understand payouts and bets, there aren't any authors that are going to tell them anything different. Ever.

I think this Forum is great. Why? Well....its just so..erm...contentious !! Why is it that everyone is at each others throats?! I'm in Vegas this April. Why not get a load of people in Vegas for an evening in April (as I'm over for 3 weeks) to see if we can all just 'get along' and talk about the game and it's nuances. I'm sure it will be a fantastic evening because no matter what we all believe when it comes to craps, I'm sure we've all got stories to tell and frankly, we will all be interested to hear them.

    TCP,

I've really enjoyed your posts, and admire your effort to get some people together. Not sure if you've already read about the great craps get together that you missed, but who knows, they're could be another. One suggestion, if you're planning your's in Vegas, avoid summer time.

Nice thought, however there was the American Craps Academy (ACA) 2016.

Not that long ago, summer 2016,, 2 members of this forum put on a free 3 day seminar in LV. Not only was it free, no one was trying to sell anyone anything, no books, no system,
totally free, all you had to do was get to LV.

Now you might think this is a good thing, however it didn't take long for the usual group of naysayers to jump all over this generous learning opportunity with their usual derogatory comments. But don't take my word for it, just start reading the thread titled, "American Craps Academy (ACA) 2016", and you'll get a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about.

This forum is similar to the, Mos Eisley Cantina.

It's another long tail thread so I'll need to do that one later, however I don't understand how a few people getting together to share stories would want to screw it all up. We're on this site because we all play craps, unless someone got misdirected ! I realise that people play differently, think differently, act differently. Fine. That's the whole point. I really don't believe anyone can beat this game because of probability over the long term, but you can win over a session, and you can roll with the dice outcomes on a table. I believe that most of us lose because we are not disciplined on the table. I also believe that most of us don't win enough because we are too disciplined when we are on a streak. These are the stories I want to hear about and learn from others. Vegas Boards, Vegas Message Board and Vegas Fanatics encompass other gaming activities and indeed non gaming activities as well. This is actually the first dedicated Craps site I've learnt of. I learnt about a second one last night through a member on this site. Some of the thread headers appear interesting, and then suddenly it's taken over by another topic.

No doubt about it that was a monster thread, but it only takes a few pages to see where this quickly starts to roll down hill. You may want to make note of the naysayers, the doom and gloomers, the down and outs, most likely you'll see them responding again with their same reoccurring talking points.

The Terms and Rules of this forum are an interesting and short read.

I made it through 6 pages. I flitted to the end, and read about some interesting tackle falling out of shorts, and 'heat' on the table (which is actually a more interesting topic as I definitely see the game being interrupted when there is a roll looking like a hot one - not that it theoretically matters to the dice when thrown). I can't read it all.

I consider myself a craps player. I don't pretend to make a living from the game! I don't know one person who can consistently produce enough income from casino table playing anyway. I play to win, and I play because I enjoy the moment, and probably to my detriment because I stay longer at tables then I should - and it's that type of experience I seek out from others' experience. This doesn't require long conversations about the physical dice. It's more to do with control over your play. For the love of the game....

crapsplayer, there are some of us on this board that don't believe in dice influencing.
those that do, persist to make us change our minds.
while me personally, I don't give a rats ass how one tosses the dice, whatever floats your boat, but trying to convince me they have the key to the casinos vault, as well as the system sellers/supporters that post here.

think about it for one minute. use some logic, common sense.
If you have the winning system that beats the casino, why would you waste time trolling the internet for a few students, even 20 students, when you can just visit the casino once a month and withdraw 10 fold what you might earn from students.
visit the casino once every 2 weeks, make 20 times. Once a week, 40 times the amount.
Its difficult for me and Im sure some others here to understand why people with such skills or unbeatable systems need to look for pennies here, when they can be rolling in 1000 dollar chips applying their so called winning systems or technique.

you see, for this I will have all the crybabies insisting we are attacking them, flame wars, whatever, but using logic or common sense seems to be unheard of here.

we all love winners. we all have winning days. some have a lot of winning days.
we all can win, but we all cant win enough to support ourselves, nor would any sane person depend on craps to make a living.
Its fun, its exciting, it gets my adrenaline flowing, but I would never depend on it to make me money in the long run.
One can remain unscathed from craps with focused discipline, and limited play, but never depend on it for a living or a big score.
now I expect all the naysayers(system and DI affiliates/supporters/sellers) to post completely opposite what I just posted.

2 important things I always remember when I approach a bubble or live table, first, use my head and stay focused and disciplined, second, have fun.

damn, if I sound like Im preaching, Im sorry, not intended. Im just stating what I think its all about.
