I first played this side bet about a month ago at the Ameristar in St. Louis and loved it. I hit the small twice and came close to all three from a guy that went on a great roll. He had rolled everything but a 10, which was the point when he was shooting. He was setting the hard 10 the entire time but could never hit it. It was sure exciting rooting for these numbers to hit.

I never have played the fire bet or the all tall and small bets. But I wonder if those that play them ever hedge the bet when they are with-in one or two numbers of hitting them. If I were to bet a fire bet, and had hit 4 or 5 of them, I would be tempted to lay the un hit numbers to insure an increased win if they didn't hit, sacrificing a bigger win if they did hit.

I have played this game a little and hedged against the 10 and 9 and came out good before. I still do not like this side bet as much as the fire bet or sharpshooter the only three I have ever been around

For we who are not aware of this bet, please describe. Is small 'downtown' and tall 'uptown'?

    The " small " is the 2 thru 6 , the " tall " is the 8 thru the 12 - and the " ALL " is the small and tall !

    Everything gets reset on a C/O 7 !

made $600 or $700 on this bet the other day. We hit it a few times one guy made 5 points I made 3 once my only good roll it was hit a couple more times for 3 and 4 I think. This opens up a whole new problem for me to adress while I left up $800 for the day only $100 was on the numbers the rest was the prop bet

Interesting bet, how would I as a player know that a particular casino/table offers it? Is it visibly printed on their layout, or is it an "ask the dealer" type of offering?

it is on the layout a person might miss it I guess. I think there is payouts printed in different locations around the table in front of the players and in front of the boxman there are numbers laid out for player bets

Where I've seen it, there's a row of numbers 2-12 in front of the Boxman, and he covers (or uncovers) each number as it's rolled in order to keep track. People usually make the bet by calling out three numbers before the shooter's first come out roll, like: "2-1-2" (which means $2 small, $1 all, $2 large).

Thank you guys. I'm sure it's always been there and it was just my ignorance not seeing it or not knowing what it was and not asking.

Couple years ago in vegas, the wife hit them all when I had $5 on small tall and all..

dice go around the table and she gets them again, I put $10 on each...she hit them again. dealers said they had never seen anyone do 2 in a row before.

I enjoy betting a few chips on Small Tall All when I come across it, but that bet is not nearly as popular in Chicagoland casinos as the Fire Bet. STA adds an interesting dynamic to the game -- how often do you hear everyone at the table clamoring for a 3 to be rolled (to lock in the "Small" or "All" bet) when the point is 9?

Fook Yea! Why in hades would I want to play a bonus bet with 7-8% -ev, when I can bet the fire at 20-25% -ev? Tell me again, what did Forest Gump say?

was at the table the other day had $1small $3all $1 tall and shooter hits all nice day but very very rare for me. I think it was $590 pay out
I made around $225 on the roll in addition to so not bad. I had a good day besides the craps table left with $1890 so it was a good day for this low roller.

This bet was not available in Atlantic City until recently. Last night at Caesars I hit every number during my roll...Nobody had bet it including myself. This probably happens once in a lifetime and I wasn't on it!!! Everyone at the table was just shaking their heads. lol

I saw this exactly in AC a few weeks ago. Guy rolling the dice had $5 fire-bet and made 5 numbers, with only the "4" pending. Then he made his point and came out with a 4. Table went wild - if he rolled 4 that's $5000 for him. I was standing next to the dealer and asked him quietly if the 'proper' play was for roller to lay the 4, say with $1000. that way he wins big if he rolls the 4 ($4000), wins pretty decent ($500) if he doesn't. He said he sometime sees that but not usually.

Even if he doesn't make the 6th. point, he still collects $1250, for a 5 point hit, so that probably satisfies most folks. I don't think I would hedge the 4 or 10, might hedge a 6 or 8 though.
