Lyft/Uber in Las Vegas is only a year in operations here. Approximately 30% of the visitors are using Uber/Lyft over the traditional Taxies. Many of the hotels now have dedicated Uber/Lyft pickup and drop off areas, and others still are trying to figure out what to do with the Uber/Lyft riders because they built their Valet areas for Taxies and never anticipated a competitor to them. The Taxi companies response to the Uber/Lyft arrival was to go to the city and remove the cap on how many Taxies they can have running at any given time. This has created a situation now where the Taxi lines are very long and the driver is making less money than ever before. So many of the senior Taxi drivers simply went to Lyft/Uber thus leaving the inexperienced and often the worst of the Taxi drivers still driving. My sincere advice for anyone reading this and who visits Las Vegas is to ride Uber/Lyft and avoid the Taxies for your own safety!
